Hello all,

So anyway I am playing a custom team (redrafted all of the modern NBA players) and I had the fifth pick overall. What I hate about this part of the game is the fact that the draft goes from 1 to 29 and back to 1 again. Its so unfair to the other teams. This annoyed me in NBA 2000 and I was dissapointed that they did not change that. Anyway I picked Garnett at 5 overall and I picked the best players available thereafter.

After drafting my team, the computer ranked me the best overall. But I didn't like the fact that my squad was a bit long in the tooth. So I put on my GM suit and went to work.

After all was said and done...I came out with a DREAM starting 5 for any long-term franchisee.

C - Mark Jackson, 25yrs old
PF - Elton Brand ,21 yrs old
SF - Tracy McGrady, 22 yrs old
SG - Allan Iverson, 26 yrs old
PG - Kevin Garnett, 26 yrs old

Yeah, I let KG play his "natural" possition. Besides, this way he overpowers other PG's.

The problem with my team though is my bench, which consists of Marcus Fizer, Jonathan Bender and other future NBA prospects.

But that all doesnt matter...I am still scratching my head...on why the computer let me have such a dominating and impressive starting 5.

I am good for the next 10 seasons at least with those 5. Then I can work on my bench in that time span.

Anyway, Im thinking of starting over because I feel real bad about what I did to a machine that does not take into account FUTURE VALUE.

Anyone else here feel bad about ripping off the computer?

Garnett natural at PG? What are you on man??

Bender's better than his ratings show... a good addition to any bench.

Tue Aug 12, 2008 11:24 am

Get with the times guys. B-ball aint the game it used to be. Garnett likes playing outside anyway. In todays game, Guys like Garnett, Duncan and Odom LEAD the offense. While smaller ,more buff, guards like Kidd and Marbury like to take it inside. Its evolution in the works.

Besides, I read an article stating that Garnett played some PG in high school.

Try being the T-wolves and move Garnett at the point...just watch what you do to opposing guards. Thought you had a ton of steal before...well you aint seen nothing yet.

If I recall correctly, we're only a couple of posts away from the masturbation reference.

Tue Aug 12, 2008 5:03 pm

Ya know what?

When I originally posted my message...I figured you guys would think that Garnett at PG was such a cool, inventive and original idea. But apparently I was wrong.

Obviously I did now know what I was getting myself into. You people apparently do not seem to understand that this game is supposed to be FUN. The fact that I CAN make Kevin Garnett a Point Guard coupled with the fact that the GAME (yes it is a game) gives me the OPTION to make him a guard...should tell you right there how "correct" my action was.

The fact that Kevin Garnett is so HIGHLY rated in the game -> could enable him to play any position. I am smart enough to recognize his true value to any team in this GAME and therefore I play him at PG.

As for KG, the real person, he has played PG in High School. And YES Jack, KG does do all those things in a real Twolves game. Maybe not to the extent as a Jason Kidd would...but anyway...

Pdub, im not smoking anything different then what your mom must have smoked before she gave birth to you. Yeah, that was low...but who are you to tell ME how to have fun? NBA Jam was a great series. But then why would you mention it?

If reality of the actual NBA game is what you people seek, then quit playing GAMES. Especially EA Live games. Go get yourself some sort of fantasy basketball simulator and start punching in numbers. Otherwise leave games like this to those who know how to use them. We people who know how to have a good time playing them.

You guys probably treat this game with same seriousness and intensity as you do masturbation.

Sorry, if you find this post insulting. But I feel the replies that I got back bordered on flaming.

It's easier to predict the future when it's the past.

You could trade before you start a new dynasty.

That kind of defeats the purpose of Dynasty Mode though.
