Go out buy an xbox360, get it modded, download a free game and use that.

Don't support EA, support Microsoft. Infact buy it from craigslist for people who are throwing theirs away, so you support a person and not EA/MS.

That is the only idea I can come up with.

I think we should work with making an update for NBA Live 08 and making it a bit into what we would have wanted in Live 09. I don't think we can do anything about those gameplay issues but I think we can do something about the rosters, don't you think? A lot of people here are good at making player models anyway...

I think before EA announce that they will not released 09 on the PC, they should said that they are updating 08, making some patches and stuff. Oh well, its EA

That would mean time, resources and money. If they were going to invest those things, they might as well have made NBA Live 09 PC. Not that I wouldn't want those updates in lieu of a PC release, but it would be asking a lot of any developer to do that for a game that had been superceded.

Maybe just like the patch that they released in 07 where they fix some major flaws in the game even some are fix and some are not. Maybe they should do that in 08 as well. They can make that after the release of 09. Email EA about that Andrew

Interesting read, particularly the comments that followed it. It doesn't seem a lot of people really get why PC sports games still have a following, resorting to the old "PC gamers are living in the past" accusation and even the trite "parent's basement" remark, as though console gaming could not be associated with that lame stereotype. Ah well, you invite comments on the Internet these days, those are the kinds of arguments you get following a news or blog post.

Anyway, it's more encouraging news than the initial announcement and nice to know what was meant by "business challenges".

That does not mean that we aren’t coming back next year with new, innovative, maybe even less-expensive ways to play all of our franchises on the PC

Looking on the bright side of the article, he didn't rule out that there IS still a possibility that NBA Live maybe back on the PC platform for NBA Live X. For people like me, I'll continue to hope while envying those who have consoles to play NBA Live 09.

After further thought, I think EA Sports might be going the World of Warcraft route with PC sports gaming. They won't release annual titles, they will make a base title, have dedicated online servers and charge you a subscription to play and receive updates so there will be no(or very limited) piracy and cut down on development costs.
