Aweomse screens. I think I'll still hold off on getting it until it's been out a while and the price comes down. I'm not in the market for a racing game right now but it's one I'll be keeping in mind.

I have not (thank god)

The little things are still impressing me with this game. Like hitting someone, having their bumper fall off and having your car actually hit the bumper and loose some control because of it. Also cutting off the CPU from passing you shouldnt be as fun as I make it out to be....swearing and taunting a computer....a life, I need it.

Anyone think the 56kers are pissed yet?

Those pics of the green and black car crashing on each other.

Is that an F1/F3 race car in the first pic? More pics of that plz.

Tue Jun 03, 2008 9:28 am

That one was F3.

These ones are the smaller than F3 one. I got more open wheel races to do next so more pics can be a coming.

8800 GT recommended?

Only have 7900 at best, damn it.

Yea it is a steep game....but the flatout guys are moving over to this game so Im sure something will come out to make it a little friendlier. www.gridjoint.com

Yep, I fail at the Open wheel races, lol.

This is my only real gripe with this game so far, sometimes when you crash and you want to do a flashback, you cant because the replay that shows for the flashback doesnt take you far enough back in time so either you are already in the air and about to die if you flashback, or you just plain cant flashback cause the entire crash takes up the replay (nothing wrong with that, I think I died from this one)

I've been doing 50 lap (doesnt ever get that far) demolition derby races. Kinda sucks though that there are only 2 tracks in 1 environment for the derby cars but im sure that community I linked earlier will fix that.

Car crashes, yee-haw!

Wow. All the other Race Driver games bored me to death, but the demo for this was awesome!

Top of the Gamefly queue it goes.

Looking at those specs, PC won't be an option for me.

Any modding websites up yet for GRID?

Can't wait to see what people have got cooking if the files in the game can be modded.

Thu Jun 05, 2008 8:55 pm

oh yea there are.

There is some stuff still over at www.flatoutjoint.com which is a flatout community.

Then they realized they are on to something to they made www.gridjoint.com

and finally the official forums have stuff as well. http://community.codemasters.com/forum/ ... .php?f=946

This game got a whole lot more interesting to me this morning....

I was racing in a midnight Togue (or w/e) event and I was thinking that is the same situation as the regular Togue events where you race down, race back 1v1 and someone wins, yay. Well, I first noticed that there was no "round" thing in the HUD in the upper left corner. Then after getting my ass kicked like normal....

............this happened around that corner......

Seriously, wtf? Pedestrian vehicles? Did not see that coming...

Sat Jun 07, 2008 12:55 pm

That's a bit NFS-like, I wouldn't have expected that either.

sorry for the awesome youtube aspect ratio

Wed Jun 11, 2008 9:13 pm

Would be playing it right now, if I owned a better Graphics Card. Looks awesome.

Fri Jun 13, 2008 5:54 pm

i got the game but the handeling is very hard, i have a hard time make turns and keeping the cars straight, how u guys managing to control these cars?

Fri Jun 13, 2008 8:47 pm

um, with the brake button

Wed Jun 18, 2008 5:37 pm

Well, bit the bullet and went out and bought this game (expensive, ugh).

Then tried to run it on my shitty graphics card (note: 7900GT). I had to lower resolution to 800x600 for the menus to run reasonably smoothly, and turned a lot of stuff to low to prevent the racing from going too slowly.

Kinda getting used to the game, keyboard seems to be a real bitch. Plus in general I suck.

EDIT: Oh, and how the hell do you drive Le Mans cars? I can't seem to get a grip on the road.

Wed Jun 18, 2008 5:50 pm

Damn GRID actually looks really good, and the crashes are sick. At first I thought the cars didn't show damage, but obviously they do and it looks beautiful.

Fri Jun 20, 2008 10:12 am

ima use my G25 on this game

Wed Jul 02, 2008 7:25 pm

This looks great, didn't know there were F3. Jao, are there any F1 ?

Sun Jul 13, 2008 8:22 pm

Contrary to the sentiments I expressed earlier in this thread, I decided to pick this up today. I haven't gotten into a career yet but I reckon it will serve me well as my racing game of choice, since I haven't much cared for the recent games in the NFS series.

Mon Jul 14, 2008 10:02 am

Scraped up a couple of big crashes myself. The first one was me taking a turn way too late, and the second cost me a flashback after decking into it.

holy cow...just got this game and it was off the hook...i'll never look back to the racing games i used to play on pc...

It's kind of a nice throwback to old racing games in the way that you can just jump in and race without having to worry about too many customisation options.
