Dunk comp.

K i have to say that i suck at the dunk comp. i've only won the comp once in rookie mode. i've tried throwing the ball and catching it and have only caught the ball once and completed the dunk. i haven't done it ever since. Does anyone have any tips to help me out? im playing a PS2 if that matters? thanks to all those who try to help

Aside from memorising the combinations, the best advice would be to make good use of Slam Dunk School and practice catching the lobs from all angles. It's all a matter of timing, so practising in an untimed environment where you have unlimited attempts (and no competition to worry about) should help you out. There's also an Alley-Oop Tutorial which gives you an indication of where you should gather from and other tips on your practice attempts.

Thanks i didn't know there was a tutorial ill have to check it out...i forgot to mention that the only time i've caught a lob to myself was in practice but ill check out the tutorial and see how it goes. thanks

It should be under Game Modes -> Slam Dunk School -> Alley-Oop Tutorial.

nope its just beginner practice, alley-opp practice and advanced practice

Sorry, I meant Alley-Oop Practice; it's been a while since I've been in there. It includes a shaded area that indicates the best place to gather from and shows other tips and information in regards to practising the lobs.
