narutoaddicted, Will he play 79 games?

You'll do well this season. I predict at least 47 wins.

Wed Feb 13, 2008 1:16 am

Some silly salary stuff: Harris and K-Mart v2 both picked up long-term deals this year, right?

That's a pretty good set of team previews. Are there still quite a few free agents to be signed?

Thu Feb 14, 2008 2:53 am

Nice previews. A bit strange that some stars are benched. Looking forward to the next update.

Yeah, I know kinda annoying tha the CPU is starting the wrong lineups, I'd like to help them but it won't let me..

Yeah, I know annoying that both Harris' and K-Mart's extensions weren't in the game... There are a decent amount left, definitely some relative big names like Ben Gordon, Bonzi Wells, and a few more (ones even better than Wells, but I can't remember them off the top of my head..)

Sorry guys, I screwed up a bit, no player of the game/box scores are different than usual, game 2 will be normal. Enjoy though! Behind the Scenes update, focusing on this season opener coming within the next day or so too!

Nice season opener there Chaser7, too bad you have played my team Dallas, your rookie has struggled but might bounce back, nice game also for Monta hope he continue that so that he will not be traded. Hoping for the next game and congrats on the win (Y)

Wow. Big win in the season opener.

I really like your presentation, however, this one was a bit rushed, especially considering it was the season opener. I noticed numerous typos, as well as the aforementioned POG/normal boxscores. Still fantastic presentation though. I really don't mean to nitpick.

Good luck with this. You should start Monta. He may not be a true PG, but hes a hell of a lot better than Shaun Livingston. Its like starting Kwame Brown over a guy like Al Harrington or Chris Wilcox.

Sun Feb 17, 2008 4:35 pm

Nice start, Chaser.

You didn't let Nowitzki drill you like he did with Germany, and the pictures look awesome. Although isn't Terry supposed to wear white socks all the time?

Lamrock, I think Shaun Livingston's a good prospect to run plays in a half-court game, since he's big and can keep the other PG away. But yeah, I agree with you that Ellis will be better for run n' gun, providing he earns his spot.

Nice win!! I wouldn't start Ellis. He brings a lot of energy from your bench. Looking forward to the behind the scenes update.

Some praise from Lamrock! Haha, I kid. Anyways, the way I see it, too many scorers if Monta is with the starters, but we'll see. Maybe you're right... Also, yea it was a bit rushed, I've since gone back and gotten rid of the typos I saw, although I just spotted one more.. Probably won't fix that one though.. Also yeah, this game was accidentally simmed, I was trying to get a photo of Dylan Lloyd for my preview, but the whole game got played out or something and because of auto save i couldn't undo it. And the CPU started Monta, so yeah, I just made up the story on the fly...

Haha, I dunno about Terry. Blame Ea not me though, haha. I agree, Shaun's a passer, and I think he could develop into something really special if injuries don't kill him first...

Thanks dude, I agree, Ellis and Mobley provide energy with the 2nd unit that I love. Anyways behind the scenes.. right.. now!

Opening Night, 2008:

"HEY! Hey! Where is the Josh Smith cutout?" Jim Fayer asked anxiously through his walkie talkie.
"Uh.. we're trying to find it right now..." a nervous worker replied through the speaker.
"Get on it! We have to make tonight perfect!" Fayer demanded. Fayer strolled through the soon to be filled hallways in his custom tailored Armani suit. He put his hands on hips and looked around making sure everything was in place. He was nervous for tonight, it was the home opener and thanks to his roster moves and his marketing decisions, they had easily sold out with an expected attendance of over 20,000 people challenging the Warriors for the record.
"Uh.. Jim.. we got it," the worker buzzed in. Beep, his walkie talkie went as Jim pressed the talk button: "Thanks, let's place it at the front entrance as we discussed."
"You got it."

Loud Music was playing through the Arena speakers, the lights were dim, bursts of fire were shot through the air. "PUUUUT YOUR HANDS TOGETHER FOR YOUR 2008-2009 LOS ANGELES CLIPPERS!!! STARTING AT GUARD......." The announcer roared overhead. Jim was standing up, clapping, with a smile on his face as he heard the crowd's approval after each of the starters were named. He was thrilled to hear that Ellis would be getting the start, but felt bad for Shaun. He knew Shaun must feel awful for not being 100% at the opener after missing all of last season.

"Should be a great game huh boss?" Fayer said to Donald Sterling.
"You betcha, I can't believe how awesome the crowd is right now," Sterling responded in an excited tone.
"Let's see how our boys do tonight,"
The crowd roared as Fayer was talking, the opening tip had been won by Chris Kaman. Ellis took the ball at the top of the key. "Pass! Pass!" Fayer could hear Coach Dunleavy screaming from the sidelines. Suddenly Ellis zipped by the slower Jerry Stackhouse and threw up an unbelievable layup right past Dirk Nowitzki. "MOOOOOOOOOOOONNNNNNNNTAAAAAAA ELLLLLLLLISSSSSS!!!!" The announced yelled. Fayer high-fived Sterling. "DEFENSE! DEFENSE!" The crowd chanted in unison.
"Unbelievable! This was incredible!" Fayer though to himself. Nowtizki posted up Marvin Williams, but Josh Smith came around weak side to slap the ball away. Ginobili scooped up the ball and went coast to coast for a 2 handed jam. Fayer could see fans slapping hands, and jumping up and down in excitement. "This is going to be gre-" Fayer began before he was cut off as he watched Ellis poke the ball way from Stackhouse from behind. Smith passed the ball back to Ellis and as the former Warrior seemed like he was stuck, he drove by 2 Dallas defenders, threw the ball off the backboard, and Smith finished it off with a nasty 2 handed jam. "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!" Smith screamed in excitement. Fayer could not hear himself think anymore, he couldn't even hear the whistle signaling Dallas' timeout. The cheerleaders came out, music came on, and the crowd kept on chanting.......
______________________________

ERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!! The buzzer sounded and confetti fell down. A bit extravagant for a regular season game, but Fayer wanted to make sure the fans remembered this game for a while. "1-0! 1-0 Baby!" Fayer could hear Smith yelling. Fayer was walking down onto the court and he could see the players' happiness on their faces. Ginobili was talking to reporters, and Ellis was signing autographs. Fayer slapped fives with some players as began walking to the locker-room.

10 minutes later, Fayer was listening to Dunleavy, who was giving his post game talk.
"Remember boys, the journey starts here. 1 game doesn't mean anything. We have a long way to go before we reach the playoffs. Enjoy yourselves tonight, but don't stay out too late, practice is at 10 am sharp tomorrow. We have some film to watch," Dunleavy lectured to his team.

"Great game Monta.." Fayer began as he stood next to Ellis' locker.
"No problem boss, We finna about to crush them again don't worry" Ellis replied with a smile.
"Finna?" Fayer asked with a laugh and a confused expression.
"Haha, sorry thats Bay Area Slang, it means 'going to', like we're going to crush them again.." Ellis answered with more laughter.
"don't worry no one can understand him either!" Smith yelled across the room. The team roared in approval.
"Have fun tonight, but be safe," Fayer warned cautiously as he walked towards Ginboli.

"Hey Manu! Nice job tonight. How you liking LA?" Fayer asked
"Its great Jimmy. It was tons of fun out there tonight," the Argentine responded.
"I'd say we got some plays that will be part of the top 10 tonight huh?" Fayer suggested.
"Haha, I hope.." Ginobili as he was interrupted.

"Hey! Fayer! Over heard let's talk" Dunleavy said loudly over the noise of the room.
"Yea sure," Fayer said as he jogged over. "I'm glad we got the win tonight, should be a fun journey right?"
"Well if we play like we did tonight, of course it will be," Dunleavy agreed. "We need to talk about Monta..."
"Oh C'mon! Not again! What'd he do wrong? He played amazing tonight, don't try and pull anything..."
"True, we'll get quite a few nights like these, but in a game against like the Pistons, do you see Ellis running up and down the floor as freely as he did tonight?"
"So, we'll how it goes, I'm not trading him yet just because you want me to....."
"I'm just saying.... we need more 3-point shooting especially from our point guards... Neither Shaun, Monta or Brevin can shoot from 3-point range worth a shit..."
"Monta's game is all about the mid-range.. we knew that!"
"Can't you see we still need to improve!"
"Who would you trade him for that is better?" Fayer asked sarcastically.
"I don't know.. like Minnesota's Randy Foye maybe...-"
"FOYE! Are you kidding me? Foye is a solid prospect/player, but Ellis is on another level. He's going to be star in this league. Did you watch him last year AND TONIGHT? He carried that Warrior team when they traded away Richardson,"
"I saw, I saw," Dunleavy said hastily. "I'm just saying.. well we'll see, right?"

Ooh, harsh loss. Shooting just wasn't there and Monta...well...

Although generally, it looked like Terry was just unstoppable.

Tough loss there... Coach Dunleavy looked really pissed based on the photo..

yeah, it was really bad, I couldn't hit anything, and they couldn't miss. Might need to tweak the settings... we'll see..
