My current roster -TEST thread, 2b rel. aft. trade deadline

Talk about NBA Live 2005 here.

Postby Leander on Thu Feb 21, 2008 3:41 am

The strange thing also is that I put Kobe Bryant on the IR of the West team. Still he was substituted.

On the roster all players have different IDs. The tutorial says to keep their IDs and just put their copy in...leave their ID while changing just team and cashteam. Maybe this works.

As I said before, the copy and paste method isn't a good idea. It's best to create the players you need, edit them so that they have the correct attributes and move them to the appropriate All-Star teams.

Waiting for all jersey numbers to be announced. :)

What should I do with players currently assigned to D-League? Should I keep them on the team's roster or move them to the FA pool?

I generally place them in the last IR slot on the roster, unless another player is out for the season (in which case that slot goes to him). Even though they're in the D-League they're still officially on a team's roster and can be activated at any time the same as any other player, so they shouldn't be Free Agents.

Unfortunately we can't assign less than 12 active players in NBA Live 2005. One possible solution would be to change those players' ISPLAYABLE value to False, which basically designates them as Injured/Unavailable.

Thanks Andrew.
What happens if isplayable is changed to false? What will be the effect in season or dynasty mode?

I think I just leave the rosters as they are. I worked a lot on it and rosters are changing anyway all the time so there will be no perfect roster lasting for more than a week or so. :)

Ok, I tested it. When I make Arenas, Butler and E. Thomas isplayable=false they are not substituted. I had Wash. play vs. Washington (cpu vs. cpu)...both had only 10 active players. :)

In dynasty mode the players are on the IR and cannot be activated.

I will upload two versions tomorrow. One with "real" injured players that don`t play even with teams with less than 12 active players...and one with rosters for dynasty mode.

Stay tuned!

I'll be waiting for the release, this looks like really good work.

You don't really need all of my SGSM stuff, just the faces, the other stuff is optional and desirable :D

Done!

I created a new thread as this here is a test thread and has many confusing posts. Hope this is ok.

Andrew The "isplayable->false" works. Thanks for pointing this out.

No worries about creating a new thread, and you're welcome. :) I haven't ever used that method in my rosters since it could lead to confusion but I might start since I offer the Uninjured version as well.
