I'm following the lead of the old guy in the forums.

The game against the Nets got cancelled part of the way through due to condensation on the floor.....way to go DCU Center/Worcester.

Sun Oct 21, 2007 12:50 am

What would happen in that situation in a regular season or, even more seriously, a playoff game?

Sun Oct 21, 2007 1:26 am

The game will be played on another date.
It could either be a continuation, same score/stats before the game was suspended, or they start from scratch.

I know it's not really Celtics related anymore, but...

Maccabi Elite Tel Aviv upgraded the talent and depth of its frontline with the signing of center Esteban Batista for two seasons, the club announced Sunday. Batista (208, 24) becomes the first Uruguayan to join a Euroleague side.

Yep, they lost, don't tell me "it's just a preseason game" because Allen played 41 minutes while KG and Pierce played 40 minutes(Rondo 38) and still they lost, after watching this, I have doubts whether they can get be, at least, the 4th seed in the Eastern Conference.

It's still only one game. No team has ever gone undefeated and even the elite teams lose very winnable games from time to time. Boston may not live up to the hype that's been generated by their offseason deals but I don't think they can be written off because they lost one game to a team that missed the Playoffs last year, pre-season or otherwise.

I just watched the Knicks @ Boston Preseason Game 1, and now I can say, I did not know what I was talking about at the last post, please forgive me

Looks like a nice performance by the Big 3 tonight against the Cavs. KG with a triple-double. Looks like things are clicking just before the season starts.

Sat Oct 27, 2007 1:56 pm

man the thing i love is, with the weapons the celts have now, house is going to get a shit load of wide open 3's. i mean there is no way you can really double off him and leave him there, but then again if you dont you are leaving someone who can crush you(minus the center but you cant leave the man standing a foot from the hoop)

Sat Oct 27, 2007 7:23 pm

Kendrick Perkins will have a breakout season. Mark my words. He'll have a Udonis Haslem-type season when Shaq came to Miami.

Sat Oct 27, 2007 10:10 pm

the man is going to get forgotton about out there, all he needs to do is made his dunks, layups, and 7-10 footers and he will be set

Sat Oct 27, 2007 11:25 pm

I'm thinking more of rebounds.

Sun Nov 04, 2007 12:47 pm

did anyone else shed tears of joy from watching the Celts play.....it was just beautiful! This team has to make it to ECF (where they can lose to Detroit).

Sun Nov 04, 2007 8:11 pm

Its incredible, these three are just awesome and the rest of the team is able to contribute, too. Okay, its only one game played but I think KG PP and Ray Allen are the sickest trio since a long time ago. You look these highlights and you see these three players who are able to beat their defenders off the dribble, who can easily shoot in the opponents´ face and who are all great passers with good court vision.

Lovin it so far !

(not a fan boy though ;) )

was a great game and for KG a great way to start his life in boston. i still think the celtics are not getting enough credit for thier depth. sure they are not the deepest team in the nba but they are not the worst either. also when the bench comes in if you can keep 1 of the 3 on the court you still have your go to guy.

Mon Nov 05, 2007 9:29 am

Boston only beats Raptors by 3. and in Overtime. Game was a SERIOUS. Raps need to bring their A game next time. 31. Milwaukee is going to feel the wrath in the next game

Mon Nov 05, 2007 10:39 am

not a bad win for the celtics. coach left before the game due to his father dying and those things usually lead up to a loss.

Are you forgetting that the Celtics coach is Doc Rivers? If anything, Doc's absence should be a bonus (condolences to Doc, though).

Mon Nov 05, 2007 4:44 pm

Ray Allen!!!!

yeah i agree, Celts bench isn't as bad as ppl make it. Ppl laugh @ Scalabrine but he's not the type to get stats, he plays smart though! I wish Doc played Leon Powe though, he's like Gomes!

Mon Nov 05, 2007 5:20 pm

Here's a question. If you were Doc, and your team was down by 1 with just 5 seconds left. Who do you give the ball to?

My second question is: I didn't see the game but PDub missed a shot to win and Ray Ray made the shot to win... so in a game like this one, the coach would have a say in who's taking the shot right? Wonder what it means for future games, does Ray ray get his name called first or do you think it will be Paul's turn, etc. What do you guys think?

Mon Nov 05, 2007 5:36 pm

I'd give the ball to Ray, no question. He's probably the best shooter in the league right now. However, if either Pierce of KG was on fire that game, I'd go to one of them.

Sit wrote:I didn't see the game but PDub missed a shot to win

He may be a good patcher, but I do not see why the Celtics are giving him the last shot of close games.

Mon Nov 05, 2007 6:37 pm

Bad nicknames. :|

I would give it to Ray. He's the guy who has the best reputation for clutch ability and he's the best shooter of the three quite easily. It'd depend on the situation though, since getting the ball to KG near the basket would be a good move also.
