Also I have a couple of random patches to make the game a little better without too much effort. This zip includes an indicator patch by bigh0rt which removes the gold/silver stars and removes the flashing that happens when you do a FSS/goto move. I also included a modified version of my Street 07 lighting and a net texture that I found on my laptop. The net was probably made by dahl since everything that looks that good was made by him.

And finally, after playing for a couple of hours tonight I decided to make a quick highlight reel of what I played. All of the Warriors highlights were done by the CPU as well as the Lebron and Wade highlights (probably others as well)

Does not fix the crash. It just crashed on me when the CPU called timeout.

EDIT: And again. Oddly, I had only two crashes out of 15ish plays prior to your patch. I'm blaming you.

To note, all of them happen when a timeout is called during a switch of possession.

EDIT2: I know you said it couldn't be it, but whenever I use the "broadcast" camera it never crashes and I can get to the end of a quarter no problem.

WOW u should think twice before accusing respected patchers who work harder than EA at making this game playable...

all i know is i ve had 3 game crashes out of 5 ...and im blamin EA and even if the jao patch dont solve this fully, u cant blame him for trying !

Crashes are not fixed.

While the quarter end crashes I've not experienced anymore, rare timeout call still crashes the game, so it's either not working or it's not working completely.

It seems to be entirely random, more than anything systematic. Now watch as I confuse correlation with causation. The "broadcast" camera seems to eliminate the timeout crashes, but increase the end of quarter crashes. "On Court" for example, is just the opposite for me.

Sorry that the crash fix isn't working for you guys, I'm going to try a couple more things and see if it helps.

Edit: I guess I get the crashing too. I don't know why i wasn't getting it before with that file I posted but whatever, I do get the crash when you or the CPU call a timeout after a made basket. Ben, I really think that the cameras have nothing to do with this.

so I have figured out how go to moves are assigned to specific players but unfortunately it isn't possible to add goto moves for players like Yao Ming with their own animations.

There are player specific animation vivs but the game does not recognize them. Instead the players that actually do have sig gotomoves or sig shots have their animations included in the main shots.ord file. We currently dont know how to add to that file so as of right now we can not add the missing animations.

However, we can assign current sig gtms to different players. For instance we can assign Yao Ming Bosh's low post go to move with no issue.


I am working on a 29 game dynasty season patch. I think I know what I am doing with that but no guarantees. Also it seems that 512 jersey vivs from 07 work in 08 along with looser's hi-res courts with no crashing (fingers crossed it stays that way)


So basically I know a lot more about this game and how it uses the new features....but I have nothing to really show for it except this picture of c0nr4ds 512 Hawks Jersey in one of the Legends Street Courts.

Could you say how I can use these 512 hawks jerseys in my live 08? Do i need to add new dbf lines in my roster or its possible to overwrite those jerseys on the originals ea's jerseys?

just go ahead and overwrite the hawk viv files. Make sure you rename the files inside the viv as well.

I have been importing patches from 07. I have the following installed and working on my Live 08 installation right now with no crashes while using 512 jerseys (viv format).

looser courts (unmodified)
SUM 07 2x CFs w/ sweat
Arm and Leg Sweat patches
better headband texture
and the enhanced lightbloom textures from Dahl (this caused a lot of crashes in 07)

So honestly I don't know what to work on next. Maybe Ill take a look into the reorder rosters dynasty issue or make sure that pdub's shoe glitch fixer works in 08.
