Best training method

Postby Cleveland wins on Fri Sep 14, 2007 1:45 am

What has worked for you in terms of training your players, sometimes i would use 3 assistants to train the player in all 3 abilities athletics, defense and offense. Other times i would just use 3 assitants to train just one ablity. But whenever i train in defense i'm always getting something like a point gaurd of all people improving in defensive rebound while i'm trying to improve their stealing ablity. It seems like my assistants love training player in rebounding, should i just stop hiring good assitant head coaches and hire 3 good assistants with high grades to get results or what?

I believe that it works in the following manner, though I am not an expert.

The assistant head coach and his 'development' attribute affects the frequency of the random 'player x has increased his attribute x ability'. This type of bump doesn't seem to have any relationship to age or growth potential.

The assistants can deliver focused training to individual players. The improvements made are a function of player potential, age and assistant ability.

The conventional strategy is to get 3 assistants with A+ ratings in one ability, ideally with a training specialty. Ideally, all of these coaches will be aroutnd c/c- grade level, so you can afford 3 of them. In reality, this is very hard to do.

I think that the assistants have much grater impact on development than the Assistant head coach. I will take a cheap ast hd coach, so I can have more money to spend on assistants.

I also never really find rumor research useful. If another team has an injury that affects it's trade needs, I can find out from the trade screens.

I would be interested to learn what the true impact of the assistant specialty is...

hope this helps or stimulates some descent conversations.

Yeah i kind of thought that the assistants had more of an impact, thanks, I'm doing two dynastys with the real teams the lakers and i'm similating them both and i have a winning team with at least an a in offense, defense and athletics and i just started another portland dynasty and i have the same thing with my assistants with this team. So far we're 3-5 and earlier in the season i made a trade with new york, i traded maglouir and some 60's guy for frye and some other 60's guy. The reason i did this is because on tv today i heard stephan a smith say that portland now has channing frye. I wonder how they got him, if it was a trade or was frye a free agent, any ways that was a good picup for portland in real life. What i'm thinking of doing after the first month is focus my assistant on one player each month and see how that goes.

I have a question????

So i got assistant, which he is in A in offense. I usually set up training 100% offense in 2 weeks. I usually train young players who are age in 20-27. And i like to train players are above 70+. I train 2 players in 1 month.

So question is how many weeks i should train them? 2 weeks are enough? or i should use 4 weeks?

the best way to train your players in order to see the overalls change at the end of the month is to train one player for 4 weeks and max out each ability. When i had live 07 i did this with bynum and his overall improved at the end of the month almost every time. I've been doing this with live 08, and i have 3 assistants. Each assistant has an a+ in all three abilities. In live 08 i trained adam morrison 3 times for four weeks, and his overall changed the first two times that i trained him it changed at the end of the month. The only reason morrison's overall didn't changed the third time i trained him is because my assistants also trained daniel gibson and he had 2 results. Bottom line is to have 3 assitants, one assistant has at least an a in offense the other two assitants has at least an a in denfense and athletics, perferably you should get 3 assistants with an a+ in each abilities.
