No text

I have no text in any menu bar, and obviously when I Try to play a game, I get a crash after loading. Some text appears, like when you manage to find the load screen and it lists our save games, or when you hit exit, it says exit to windows, except with some $ signs and such.

Any ideas?

Also, this only happened AFTER I installed SUM V2.1

Weird. I would think that is most likely the locale.eng file, which is included in SUM V2 but not 2.1. It's included with SUM V2 to give the shoes their proper name, but it could be causing the problem. Try renaming it and then putting the original in it's place.

I'm thinking its a problem with those files since in my previous problems I've had to completely replace those files. I'll give it a try and let you know if it works.

OK. The locale.eng file ceased to exist in my loc folder, so I grabbed the original one off the CD and put it in there. Now I can see text and everything's normal, except the game still crashes when I try to play.

Also, no other files are missing from the loc folder, all 18 are there.

Here's the locale.eng file that SUM V2 was supposed to install, but for some reason didn't.

Since the loc file was somehow deleted or disappeared, it's possible that more files disappeared. It's strange that this happened after installing 2.1 and not 2. I would guess that it could happen if the files weren't installed correctly in V2, somehow overwriting the originals, but not actually replacing them, causing a missing file or files.

My only guess is for you to install V2, then V2.1 again. Before you do that, see if you can go into practice mode or 1 on 1, or edit player, try a different roster, etc. Try using a different team.
