Steve Nash gets a DNP because of death threats he received before the game.
Stoudamire stays on the bench to hold Steve Nashes hand and comfort him.
Marion scores 0 points because he cant do anything without Nash.
Raja Bell gets tackled by Sasha Vujacic and they both are ejected.
Boris Diaw score 50 points because hes the only one left.
Kobe goes for 75 points off of 69% shooting without Raja guarding him.

Lakers win 125-86!!!

Bell's not a good defender, average at best. He has no effect on Kobe offensively. Kobe can score 70 points on him anytime he wants.

He believes that if he scores a lot of points on the Suns, it will not get the Lakers wins. He thinks that if he is the only one scoring, it won't help his team.

Well in this series, Kobe passing= loses. His teammates just cant come up for him so he needs to score atleast 40, 50+ to win these games. If the Lakers just play a little bit of defense while him doing that then it will be a win.

are you his spokesman or something?

anyways, how did Kobe make All D 1st team.....his D wasn't good this year.

Dont hate homie..
Whats that like 7th time Defensive Team?

Tue May 01, 2007 11:47 am

I don't know, even Smush had better defensive numbers then Kobe, not to mention Manu.

Maybe it's because a good defense is a strong offense?

Tue May 01, 2007 11:51 am

If thats so, then why was Bruce Bowen on there?

That message was actually directed towards the loser with "Steve Nash needs to die" in his sig, but I guess it applies to you too since you concurred with him.

No i just thought you were talking to me :)

What? Are you implying that Smush deserves to be there more than Kobe??  :shake:

Smush gambles WAY too much, he plays lazy defense, EVERY PG that goes against him gets career nights(from scrubs to stars). He is the reason he lost in Game 2 and 1. His defense on Barbosa and Nash was horrible, enough so that the Suns were able to spurt big runs. We could've won Game 1 if it weren't for him. The series should be 2-2.

Tue May 01, 2007 12:42 pm

Series should be 4-0 if the Lakers wern't so sorry :shake:

Question about game 4.

Why didn't Phil do ANY of the strategies that worked in game 3 in game 4? The reason we won game 3 is because:
1) We blitzed Nash on the pick and rolls
2) We put in Shammond and Smush most of the time to guard Nash and Barbosa
3) Kobe was driving to the basket every single time

Yet in game 4, Phil does the COMPLETE opposite, he doesn't tell his team to do the things that helped us win game 3, and instead tells the team not to blitz Nash on pick and rolls, doesn't put Shammond and Smush most of the game, and tells Kobe to pass the ball. Wouldn't it make sense to do the things that worked in game 3?

Tue May 01, 2007 2:15 pm

Kobe is a flat out winner. A competitor. His teammates need to understand that when they come out on the floor with him they need to perform. When he gives them open looks they need to knock them down with confidence. Thats all i ask of them to do is to make their shots they dont get many since Kobe is always doing the work but when he gives them those opportunities they need to come through.

anyone notice the rumor article on ESPN Insider entitled "Odom's last days as an LA Laker?" anyone know what it says?

Wed May 02, 2007 12:17 am

Lakers are going to win the next game.

Lets hope and pray. If they do thats a good thing cause they can bring game 6 to LA and you know the LA crowd will be crazy.

Wed May 02, 2007 10:31 am

in fact, LA fans at STAPLES Center are mostly quiet..they just wait for their team to do something good before cheering.

plus i dont see game 6 hapening, the way these guys play defense.

Thu May 03, 2007 7:45 am

Okay ladies, a few hours to go. The game is at 4.30 a.m. by me. It's 11.45 p.m. right now. I've got the flu, I've got to train at around 8 and I've got class at 11 a.m. and have to work at 4 p.m.

Does it matter? Fuck no. This is the Lakers we're talking about. I'm going to get a few hours of shut eye, see you guys in a bit.

Thu May 03, 2007 7:54 am

For the first time ever, I don't want the Lakers to play. Just so that they will lose the series later rather than sooner. I can just feel another game 2 coming.

But I also have a gut feeling that if we SOMEHOW win, we will win the series.

Yeah unfortunatley i have the feeling this will be another Game 2 :( Kobes teammates dont really have any confidence going and the Suns will take advantage of that.

Gametime

Thu May 03, 2007 12:58 pm

Let's make the most of this and enjoy it to the max. It could possibly be the last game they play this season. :(

Let's go Lakers!
