This is great! Thanks for getting it working Trailrunners.
I kept my part of the bargain -

I would like to make this site a NCAA MOD community site for the future, with input from everyone. I think 06 is a great build for the MOD, I use to patch 95-2000 and participated in a few past NCAA Mods.
Thanks again - My son and I are now enjoying the mod!

Briggs - GREAT job with the website! It's nice seeing the srceen shots of the NCAA game on there too. I'd love to see this mod continue on into the future as well. I will be there to assist with whatever needs to be done. Sam's right, we need to get the roster file and ratings dialed in for sure. That is a lot of work and will really make the mod what it is. With the ratings dialed in, it will play as good as it looks. It might be late to do much with the ratings now, perhaps just update the Final Four teams as Sam suggests, but we really should start work on the rosters before the NCAA season even starts next season. Players will graduate and leave the teams and we'll need to add and rate new players. This will take time, but we have a good base to start from. I wouldn't mind a discussion about what teams we might want to add as well - Oregon, USC some to my mind. Any other teams that will be solid contenders next season that aren't on our list of teams? Can we only have a max of 45 teams that we have in the mod now? Obviously, we are limited in Season mode to 30 teams, but that doesn't mean we can't have 45 or more to choose from for our Season mode. So, maybe this is a good discussion to start having now.
Briggs, I'm also having fun playing the game with my son along with the Final Four! My Final Four looks a little different than the actual Final Four though. Along with Georgetown, Ohio State and UCLA are my Badgers who knocked off Florida to get to the big dance!

Forum is now up!
I'll be contributing C-faces
The website is very basic right now, as in
the future it will get much better. I'm glad
we have this mod to play and hopefully we can turn this into something
bigger. I like NCAA basketball better than pro -
although our Suns have been fun to watch the past few years.

nice looking site

i hope this helps the mod along and help it continue to the upcoming editions of Live

Nice job on the forum and also trailrunners nice work on getting the mod up and working......But Sorry
If someone had time and just sat down for one whole day, they could get the ratings fixed up really nicely I think.
This is wishful thinking though, try 3 to 4 months to get them right. Ratings has always been the problem with this mod.
Wed Mar 28, 2007 4:13 pm
is this all compatible with the 2005 version?
Wed Mar 28, 2007 8:22 pm
great news, but is there any portraits for the mod?

Thanks for finishing the mod...I look forward to playing this mod when I get home later today!

There are no portraits for the mod. Also, I really want to temper people's enthusiasm a little so they don't have unrealistic expectations. This mod is PLAYABLE. As Sam pointed out, and I keep finding more as I look deeper into the roster file - the roster file and ratings are REALLY out of whack. A lot of work still needs to be done in this area. If your favorite team is one that is out of whack, just be prepared for that!

I'd like to start working on fixing up the rosters as soon as possible. Perhaps I can take all the Big Ten teams in the roster file and fix those ratings at least. Also, we'll have to start preparing for next season - seniors graduating and new players on the rosters. I know my Badgers will need to replace three senior starters not the least of which is Alando Tucker.
Does anyone have the ratings file from March Madness 07? I think that would be the best base to use for ratings since it's also an EA game and the ratings would be more similar to the Live series. Please, if anyone has the MM07 ratings, shoot them over to me. Thanks!
Thu Mar 29, 2007 12:58 am
I hope the rosters are decent , again , when I look over them after I get home I will try to see if I have a problem with any of the ratings , and suggest alternatives. I'd also like to help update the rosters , add OJ MAYO to USC etc

I also wanted to point that at the end of the readme it says: "If you want teams other than the 30 teams that I renumbered in Season or playoff mode, you will have to use a dbf editor to change the TEAMCODE in the teams.dbf from 13 to 0. You will then have to change a team back from 0 to 13 for each team you want to be able to use in Season or Playoff mode. You can only have 30 teams (0-29) available for Season mode to work."
In addition to this, I forgot to mention you have to change the team ID in the following dbf's: players (for each player on the team), coach, teamgear, and teaminfo.

Kevin Durant is ranked a bit low...are these rankings from March Madness 07? I'd think Durant would be 90-ish. Oden is 96 but Durant 80?

Dynasty mode doesn't work...freezes up after training camp. Any reason for this? And I was able to run season but got the infamous "pink-head"
Thu Mar 29, 2007 4:45 am
You shouldn't get those pink heads if you installed the cyberfaces. I also experienced a freeze in Dynasty mode right after training camp. Not sure why that happened, but I'll look into it. I just tried Dynasty last night. Yes, ratings do need to be redone.

just so everyone knows, all lighting files from 07 work in 06
Thu Mar 29, 2007 7:16 am
Hmm...i got some popup box error about teams.dbf when I tried to simulate in season. Maybe it's because i neglected to set the divisons correctly , but the mod often freezes up during simulation.
Thu Mar 29, 2007 8:35 am
hmm....I've never had problems simming in Season mode. Make sure you set DIVISIONS to have 5 teams in each division (0-5). All other teams I have set to 6. Also, if you changed available teams in teams.dbf, make sure you change them in the other areas as well (teaminfo, teamgear, players, coaches). Never had a freeze during simulation. Is the Sweet Sixteen working for you?
Thu Mar 29, 2007 10:22 am
no portraits...
lets transition the discussion over to ncaa-mod.com boards...
all this hard work on the awesome-looking new site should not go to waste!
Thu Mar 29, 2007 10:29 am
I am willing to do acc ratings...
we have the mm07 ratings file, but you cannot open it with a pc, i wasted hours trying to do this.
if you STILL want to try, i can get it to you...
Thu Mar 29, 2007 11:11 am
Well anyways , I fixed the "season" problem and the mod seems to work fine. There are still weird scores (I was able to beat Villanova 70 - 24 and Villanova isn't that bad) but I can tweak those with the sliders. I'd like to see an image in the schedule though of the opponent...currently the calendar only displays green and blue lined boxes.
Thu Mar 29, 2007 1:05 pm
ixcuincle,
What did you do to fix the "season" problem?
The weird scores are happening because the Villanova players actually don't have any ratings at all! When you played Villanove did all the Villanova players look really slow and miss almost all of their shots? I was noticing the same thing and looked in the players dbf, and none of the players for Villanova had any ratings at all. There is an overall rating, but no ratings for anything else. The other teams that have this problem appear to be Texas Tech, UCLA, Villanova, Virginia, Washington, Witchita St, and Xavier. I've fixed the ratings for UCLA and Washington so far in my file. Like I said, the roster file is messed up. But, actually only 7 teams have this problem, so it could be worse. I'll try to get these teams fixed, maybe tomorrow and upload a new roster file with these teams at least fixed.

Clumsy me forgot there were more season settings available and forgot to scroll down , I started another season and filled out all the options this time , and I was able to play 2 games successfully.
When the rosters are updated , do I have to start another season again...
Fri Mar 30, 2007 12:45 am
I believe you have to start another season if you want to use the updated roster file.

There should REALLY be an actual court for the Final Four. I managed to pass the Philips Arena off as the Georgia Dome however..
Also, why not use the courts that were in NBA Live already? Like the FedEx Forum?
You could've also did a West Regional Court using the Arco Arena, and stuff.
