Custom Teams in Season or Playoff Mode?

I received a roster file from a friend with 45 custom teams in it. I can play exhibition games with all 45 teams. What I'm looking to do now, is play a Season or Playoff with some of these teams. The way it's set up now, I can't do it.

The teams were also numbered with IDs from 55-99 in the file I received. I know that a season can only include 30 teams and they have to be numbered from 0-29. So, I used a dbf editor and changed the team IDs randomly for 30 teams from 0-29 in the dbf files for Teams, Teaminfo, Teamgear, Players, Coaches and I think a couple other dbf's but I can't remember which now. The teams I didn't want to be included in the Season or Playoff I just left numbered from 55-99, whatever number they were. I also just renumbered the teams, but didn't re-order them, so in the dbf editor, you'll see something like this order for Team ID: 55,56,0,58,1,60,61,2,3,64,etc. down the list.

When I go in to try to see the teams in Season or Playoff, the only team that shows up is the team with the ID that I renumbered 0. That's the only team that shows up. I'm thinking now that maybe the team IDs in the dbf editor have to be in order 0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10...etc. down the list. Maybe that's why the other teams aren't showing up. It's starting at 0 and then looking next for 1, but the next team down the list is actually numbered 58, so it stops there. If this is true, then I made an obvious stupid mistake....but, I'm clueless about dbf editing.

If I put the teams I changed from 0-29 in order in the dbf editor, will the other 29 teams then be selectable in Season or Playoff mode? What is an easy way to get the teams in order in all of those dbf files I edited (cut rows and past rows)? Am I doing the right process trying to get these custom teams to work in Season or Playoff mode? Am I changing all the right dbf files or are there more or fewer dbf files that need to be changed or renumbered to make a Season or Playoff work for the custom teams?

I'm not really sure how to do this, and the roster file I got was pretty messed up, but any help would be greatly appreciated!

Do you have any duplicate ID numbers? That'll cause problems.

Well, I think the key was just changing the TEAMCODE in the Teams.dbf to 0 to match the 30 NBA teams. They had been numbered 13, which didn't correspond to any teams. Now, the 30 teams I renumbered 0-29 show up as selectable in Playoff and Season mode. So, I think that was the key right there.
