guys, what is the purpose of cpu assistance?

The team that is losing seems to shoot more 3's and plays a pressing defense.

If you ask me, the CPU ALWAYS has CPU assistance. I was smoking GS earlier today by 15 points, and they go on a 25-0 run in the 4th......

I just bought a really nice new 22" LCD WS monitor - I really don't want to smash it just yet!

Correct, the CPU does have its own comeback logic (sometimes referred to as the "comeback code") to keep games competitive down the stretch. The problem is that it's often too aggressive and takes the form of gaining superhuman abilities while the user's players suddenly perform very poorly.

CPU Assistance of course is very similar in execution except that it can work in the user's favour as well. Personally I've always preferred to play with it off especially since the CPU can take care of itself with the comeback logic in recent years.

so if you off that cpu assistance, the cpu can't shoot 3...

tnx bro...

They're still capable of mounting a comeback and playing aggressively but turning off CPU Assistance tends to cut down on some of the more annoying occurrences, such as missing wide open dunks and layups.
