SUM Roster beta Release (I NEED YOUR HELP FOLKS!)

Sat Feb 24, 2007 3:26 am

Ok, so here's where I'm at. Due to the tremendous amount of work, and the SUM Team kicking it into high gear as of late to push for a v1 to be released ASAP, I've decided to release a beta Roster. This is a pretty far cry from what will be released in v1, but I figure, this is for you guys, so I might as well let you guys let me know some of the things I've passed over, as far as players being on the correct teams, missing players, jersey numbers, and primary & secondary positions. I haven't re-rated every player, but about 75% of them are re-done, so I'm not really looking for feedback in that regard at this point. Also, I haven't re-done the team rotations, but if you wish to post the depth charts for some teams, go ahead, and I'll use them.

This does not include anything other than the roster files alone, either, so also keep in mind that upon being released with the SUM Project, along with this will be over 400 custom CFs, custom tattoos, custom arm, leg, headbands, custom headshapes, etc. etc. etc. My main point of releasing this beta is to get your feedback, so I can get it to where it needs to be for its v1 release; so if you're ready, willing, and able, I thank you for your help in advance. Just reply to this thread.

Hey guys, what files change the shoes in this patch? only shoesacc or more :?: Sorry for the question bad tie-shien shoe patch crash my game and the colors

Sat Feb 24, 2007 3:38 am

shoesacc should be all you need to change to get it not to crash, if you have that patch installed.

Sat Feb 24, 2007 3:44 am

Thanks (Y)

Sat Feb 24, 2007 3:50 am

Nice,i will try it

Sat Feb 24, 2007 5:14 am

I'll test it and give my feedback :D
I think I'll be able to help you out :) at least I'll try

EDIT:
I just had to try the rosters immediately...

Here's what I would change (my main concern are starting lineups and player positions)

Boston= Szczerbiak to SF, Pierce to SG (don't ya think so?)

Charlotte= the best starting 5 they've pulled is
Okafor,Wallace,Morrison,Felton,Knight... I think that should be it (and Okafors pri.pos. is PF)

Chicago= Nocioni to PF position and Deng to SF in starting5

Dallas= Dampier starting center...

Indiana= starting five should look like this I think: Murphy,O'Neal,Granger,Dunleavy,Tinsley

LA Clippers= Kaman starting C, Brand PF

LA Lakers= Kwame starting center? Not sure, but I think it should be so... He's a PF now

Miami= Jones ahead of Wade?:D Well that's easily fixed...

Minnesota= Foye surpassed James as starting PG--->Davis SG and Hassell starting SF

Orlando= Ehmm... starters: HowardC,MilicicPF,TürkogluSF,HillSG and NelsonPG. My opinion.

Phoenix= The most successfull lineup might be with Diaw as PF and Marion as SF, but it doesn't matter that much.

Portland= dude... That team is just so f*cked up you don't know what to do :P

Seattle= Collison as a center and I think he's their no.1 center.

Washington= Stevenson is definitely their starting SG!

this is what I've come up to now... I'll have to look at them better tomorrow, 'cause I haven't got that much time right now :(

Hope this helps at least somehow :D ;)

I've tried it :) I think Kapono should be shooter, because he's the best NBA 3-pointer this year and he deserves that trigger :)

Great work thus far, here are my observations (including some pertinent rating comments):

ATL: Josh Smith's secondary position should be either PF / SF. Royal Ivey has been inserted into the starting lineup lately at PG as well.

BOS: Gerald Green's positions should be switched: Primary SG, Secondary SF. Rajon Rondo is much better than his current rating. Even his mid-range jumpers have looked good lately.

CHI: Luol Deng's secondary position should be SF. He should additionally be in the starting lineup in place of Nocioni.

CLE: Daniel Gibson is their starting PG at the moment. His ratings need drastic improvement, from 3-PT to Defense.

DAL: Greg Bucker is the starting SG. Jason Terry's positions need to be switched (Primary PG, Secondary SG).

DEN: Linas Kleiza should be Primary SF, Secondary SG.

DET: Chris Webber is now the starting C. Rip Hamilton's ratings need a boost, he can essentially do it all.

GSW: A lot of stuff here. Monta Ellis and Stephen Jackson are both in need of rating increases. Monta is severely underrated (I'm assuming you haven't done him yet, but I'm mentioning it just in case), and Jackson is finally back to his usual self (18 PPG, 4 APG, 1.5 SPG). Al Harrington's passing needs to be decreased significantly. Lastly, Kelenna Azibuike needs to be signed, and Aaron Owens and Anthony Roberson released.

HOU: Bonzi Wells' primary position should be SF. Scott Padgett was traded just recently for Jake Tsakalidis.

IND: Starting lineup is Murphy, O'Neal, Granger, Dunleavy, Tinsley as Kremsku said. Shawne Williams position is SF. Number changes neccessary: Dunleavy is #17, Murphy is #3, Diogu is #1.

LAC: Quinton Ross' defensive awareness should be much higher, around 90.

LAL: Luke Walton is the starting SF, and conversely, Radmanovic is insanely overrated.

MEM: Starting lineup is Gasol, Swift, Miller, Gay, Stoudamire. Adjust positions to follow suit.

MIA: Release Horton and sign Chris Quinn.

MIL: Charlie Bell is a SG / SF, and his ratings should be increased overall.

NOK: Rasual Butler's primary position is SF, and secondary is SG.

NYK: Jamal Crawford is now the starting SG, and Francis is the 6th man. Francis' ratings should be dropped as well.

POR: Positions for Fred Jones are SG / SG. He can't play the 3.

SAC: Kevin Martin is the starting SG, Garcia really doesn't get much playing time actually.

SAS: Elson / Oberto are the starting C (it varies, so it's your call). Duncan then moves down to PF.

SEA: Earl Watson has supplanted Luke Ridnour as the starting PG.

I tried not to overlap anything that Kremsku already mentioned.

I'll give you anything you need to know about the San Antonio Spurs. :)

Starting Lineup:

C - Francisco Elson
PF - Tim Duncan
SF - Bruce Bowen
SG - Brent Barry
PG - Tony Parker

This has been the starting lineup for a month now and Pop has shown no indication that he wants to change it.

Bench:

6. Manu Ginobili
7. Michael Finley
8. Fabricio Oberto
9. Robert Horry
10. Matt Bonner
11. Jacque Vaughn
12. Beno Udrih
[13.] Jackie Butler
[14.] Melvin Ely
[15.] James White

This should be the pecking order for the Spurs bench. Manu was placed on the bench a month ago for energy and hustle. Matt Bonner just came back from injury and was actually playing more than Robert Horry before he got hurt. Jacque Vaughn has taken over Beno Udrih's backup point guard duties and Beno has barely played since.

Jackie Butler has only played 37 minutes this entire season and is not in the Spurs rotation. James White has yet to step on the floor. The Spurs just acquired Melvin Ely for Eric Williams in a trade with the Bobcats, but he also has not seen the floor.

Jersey Number Corrections:

Matt Bonner - 15
Fabricio Oberto - 7
Jacque Vaughn - 11
Jackie Butler - 45
Melvin Ely - 2
James White - 33

Depth Chart:

PG - Tony Parker / Jacque Vaughn / Beno Udrih
SG - Brent Barry / Manu Ginobili
SF - Bruce Bowen / Michael Finley
PF - Tim Duncan / Robert Horry / Matt Bonner
C - Francisco Elson / Fabricio Oberto

Tim Duncan and Robert Horry can both play some minutes at center but they don't usually. Michael Finley sometimes plays some minutes at shooting guard and Brent Barry can play point guard too if needed.

Hope this helps. Looks like a great start so far. Keep up the good work! (Y)

amen.

Also, sasha pavlovic (CLE) needs drastic improvement in ratings also in EVERYTHING. He's incredibly talented. (3pt,inside scoring, dunking, off. and def. awareness) - basically everything he has excelled in.

*edit*

Also, you should increase varejao's offensive ratings a little bit, and his FT rating should be increased a tad.

Manu must be in the starting lineup :!: :!:

Sat Feb 24, 2007 11:47 am

manu is currently the 6th man in san antonio spurs. he is actually the 2nd leading scorer off the bench just behind jamal crawford of new york.

Sat Feb 24, 2007 12:17 pm

He is in the bench right now, but he has started more games in the starting lineup than in the bench. And after his 40 point game, he will surely start the game

No, he really won't. Even if he has three 40 point games in a row. Pop didn't move him to the bench because Brent Barry is better. He got moved to the bench because the bench needed a spark. He's still playing the same minutes.

a BETA release means that the official one is coming soon..gotta reinstall my game again..good job bro and the crew.keep it up..(Y)

I'll add a little gas to the fire... Manu should be a starter.

bigh0rt, you haven't made clear if you want to make the starting lienups as realistic as possible, or as good as possible.
Starting lienups are crucial for the gameplay(I think) and you should tell whether it's realism or effectiveness that you want :D (otherwise there's gonna be a lot of flaming)

-----------------------------------

Let's sum up the T-Wolves I so deeply love... (Pri.pos/sec.pos)

Starters are now clear:
C: Mark Blount (C/PF)
PF: KG (PF/C)
SF: Trenton Hassell (SF/SG)
SG: Ricky Davis (SG/SF)
PG: Randy Foye (PG/SG)

6th: Mike James (PG/SG)
7th: Craig Smith (PF/SF)
8th: Jaric (this depends on how well he and Smith play...) (SG/PG)
9th: McCants (SG/SF)
10th: Hudson (PG/PG)
11th: Griffin (if he's healthy he could be much better, but you can't know) (C/PF))
12th: Madsen (PF/C)
[13th]: Reed (SF/SF)
[14th]: Bracey Wright (SG/PG)

Rotation:
Foye/James/Hudson/Wright
Davis/Jaric/McCants/Wright
Hassell/Smith/McCants/Reed
Garnett/Smith/Madsen/Griffin
Blount/Garnett/Madsen/Griffin

Something like that... And btw, you're missing Craig Smith, Paul Millsap :D At least I couldn't find them anywhere :)

-------------------------------------
Some other players that need adjustments on their primary/secondary positions:

Caron Butler SF/SG
Mehmet Okur C/PF
Deron Williams PG/SG
Dee Brown PG/PG (he has old Dee Brown in his portrait...)
Kenny Thomas PF/PF
Leandrinho Barbosa PG/SG
Jumaine Jones SG/SF
James Jones SF/SF
Kyle Korver SF/SG
Andre Iguodala SG/SF
David West PF/PF
Tayshaun Prince SF/PF, NO WAY SG!!!
Anderson Varejao PF/C
Thabo Sefolosha SG/SF
Tyrus Thomas PF/SF

Raptors starting5 has been Rasho,Bosh,Garbajosa,Parker and Ford. But I would probably put Bargnani there instead of Nesterovic.

Maurice Taylor is no longer a team member for Sac. Kings, neither is Loren Woods, but rookie Justin Williams is/he's missing...

Realistic starters for Portland are Magloire,Randolph,Udoka,Roy and Jack. The best are Magloire,Randolph,Miles,Webster and Roy.

Julius Hodge no longer in NBA

This is what I can offer :D Hope this will give some help to you SUM guys :)

EDIT number 102...
I haven't said anything about the ratings, because you didn't want to hear bigh0rt. But I do have opinions on it! And one I should tell: you should pay attention on the freestyle superstars 'cause they have so big impact on gameplay. And there's tons of FSS I would alter or add.

Alot of you obviously cant read about the ratings stuff, he doesnt want that yet so stop saying it. And if im not mistaken this mod is going for realism, not what you think is the most effective lineup (which would be different for everyone). H0rt please correct me if i'm wrong with that statement....

Sun Feb 25, 2007 12:29 am

actually theres no question manu should be starter. i think its a coach decision or strategy why he comes off the bench.

Sun Feb 25, 2007 4:27 am

But lately he hasn't been , Barry has been the SG starter.
Like illini said, you guys need to read the first post a bit more and stop being stubborn...
