This stuff only works once every full moon for me, so I'm usually stuck with one FSS style and the X-factor blinking when it's ready to be activated... 
It was working at first , but I think that shit started to happen when I installed the first unofficial patch. Anyone else has this issue?

are you using a keyboard?
I know that if you are using one then you cant hold more than 2 or three keys down at once. so try not moving and switching.
