Thanks for the heads up TBD. I removed the one link I could for now and he's been banned, along with several other of these advertising bots or whatever they are.

Ok, I have been talking with RSox, and we have come to the conclusion to ask for xEMMJAYx to be banned. Although you will probably not know him (he mainly posts in 2005 sections), he is one of the most annoying guys on here. He will post random 6 Billion x 93 Billion pixel screens of somebody's CF that he hasn't installed right and ask why it looks funny, but in a thread that has absolutely nothing to do with it. He is ungrateful, and I would be surprised if he could wipe his own ass without help. RSox and I are trying to keep Live 2005 alive, and this fuckwit makes it damn near impossible.

I agree with Flite_23 on his thoughts of xEMMJAYx. The guy doesn't do anything himself. He asks for help on everything.

Look at these posts in JaoSming's 07 announcments thread:
http://www.nbaliveforums.com/sutra687953.php#687953
http://www.nbaliveforums.com/sutra700042.php#700042

What the hell is he doing in the 07 thread? The images are so large in size that is still loading on my computer. I hope you will agree with us on our thoughts about this guy and ban him.

As bad as it is... I will have to 3rd this notion. I have to say he's gotten a little bit better as of late. There was period where he was totally taking over other patcher's threads and filling them with questions that have no link with what the patchers are currently working on.

As previously noted, he asks for so many things which he can just do himself. Even the most normal and mundane of things.

I ain't asking for a total ban though. He might learn after all, perhaps a slap on the wrist with a week or 2 ban.

For now, I'll be sending him a friendly PM, notifying him of his actions and requesting him to cease said actions (I believe he's slowed down after I posted after one of his quirky requests... but I digress..) He will not, however, be banned at this point, as he is no more annoying than, say, Jugs, who got the same courteous reminder of forum rules, regulations, and common courtesies, and has chilled out considerably since.

Hopefully one of those will work and prevent those annoying bot-threads.

Thanks CK, appreciate it. :)

Here's an idea on stopping banned members from comming back or stopping spam bots from spamming: If they come back or advertise report their IP address to their ISP providers.

^ I think that would require a phonecall. Andrew's not filthy rich to make calls to places like Greece, the U.S., and especially the Philippines.

No, that information is very easily obtained, along with the email address of the system administrator (my fiance is a technical trainer and security administrator for a cable internet company, heh)

well, I have had people in the past request to delete them completely, so I wasn't too shocked by the request.
