Mafia, do you have your other stats? (rebounds, assists, etc.)
Good luck against White Station in the Ridgeway Classic...
Also, did you ever know Derrick Byars?
nah, can't say I did....

Well. Today I went to a scrimmage for our Basketball Summer Camp. My best friend broke his ankle. It looked so damn painful and it was twisted very, very badly. The sad thing is he is a bigtime up-and-comer and averaged about 20ppg last season as the 4th - yes 4th scoring option. He's 5'11 and has a 40 inch vertical, great shooter, and the best defender on the team. What makes it worse is he will be out at least 6-8 weeks with this awful injury, then will have to go and have knee surgery on both knees because of problems with them. Good luck regaining your speed and hops after that.
On to me, I have to have a scan on my right knee to determine the problem with it causing some pretty serious pain. I can't bend down to have my knees at a 90 degree angle because they jam up with pain before I can reach that point. I'm pretty sure I will be having surgery on my right knee, and my left has gotten pretty bad also. I feel bad for him because he was most likely moving to the USA at the end of next year to move in with his cousin so he could pursue basketball over there. I know this isn't the end of his basketball "career" but having your ankle snapped apart and then having surgery on both knees is pretty devastating. Best of luck to him.

The newspaper only show the points for some reason. The coaches keep up with the other stats though. And I've met him before, but he was a senior the year I was getting ready to come in so I didn't just get a chance to play with him or anything.
Congrats

It always feels good after having a huge game. I scored 48 points once, and the sad thing was, I was mad at myself for not being able to get 50
I would be happy if I had 48. But 50 does look a little better.Jason Jones hey? So is this for like the varsity team or whatever you call it? Perhaps you can educate me on the USA HS Sports system.
Yea, but I can try and help you with anything you need to know.

How many years do High School students study? And what grades go to which teams in sport? How many teams are there and are there different divisions?
How do High School players get ranked? How does the scouting system work?
Thanks man! I just wanted to know, it sounds real interesting!
And a question about you, are you looking at playing basketball in college?

Why do women complain so much? Sheesh, its like you can do a million things right and the smallest fuckup is the only thing that goes noticed. The thing that pisses me off is not only do you let alot of stuff slide with them but also alot of the things they complain about they do the same thing them-damn-selves. Man, if only I had the strength to fly kick someone this time of the morning. Ah well, off to bed with my vague frustration.

HS students for 4 years minimum depending on if they fail or something. You play any sport in HS, no matter what grade your in. As long as your school offers that sport. As far as teams, there are so many in each state. There are about 90 + teams in TN system as far as basketball teams go. As far as ranking goes, the players usually gain their exposure from playing AAU in the summertime because thats when mostly all the scouts come out to look at players. Playing AAU ball helps you out alot and if you played AAU ball and didnt play HS ball, you could still get recognized easily. The scouting system goes back to what I said, most scouts come to AAU tournament games. If they like some of the players they see, they would start coming to their practices and games.
I didn't really think scouts came to practices until last year when a South Florida scout came to our practice and we didn't know who he was. We were just fooling around in practice and stuff and wasn't taking it as serious as we should and it made us look bad. The coach told us before the practice really got started that he was a scout, so we start playing harder
As far as me playing college ball, I haven't really decided yet. If I continue to play like I played the first game, I'm pretty sure I will get recognized. But, I'm looking more into the academic direction. If I become a high prospect, then I might consider waiting a year before going to college and come out the 08' class for better scholarship offers. The only thing about that is its an extra year of school that I don't even need and I won't be elgible to play the 2nd semester because I would be turning 19, but I would still be listed as a high prospect depending on how well I do in summer leagues and stuff, but I'm leaning more towards the academic direction.

Academic sounds good to me. Also, is HS ball anything like how the movie Coach Carter portrays it? All the players get the chicks

And the team gets media attention...
Mon Nov 20, 2006 1:39 am
Zoom, about the media and the players getting the chicks. In my high school, yes most of the athletes got the hot girls (specifically the football players in my town). The media attention comes from connections with the papers/other media outlets from within the school. Also, just plain stories (an undefeated team) versus inspirational stories (coach carter, kid with terminal disease recovered and is playing) inspirational stories usually get alot of recognition, did you see that story bout the autistic manager on an HS bball team who they let play and ended up making the game winning shot? The media loves that kind of crap.

Yeah, so does Hollywood.
Well man, I guess most of the sports teams would be consisting of jocks anyways... especially the football team. So it all makes sense.

The two most dreaded words a person can hear is "just friends". I just heard those words from a girl yesterday.

I heard that not too long ago. I asked my Mum what she was watching.

It's her loss. I've had that happen to me a few times, and they don't know what they're missing out on. In fact, if I was a girl, I'd try to make babies with you.
In short, you're intelligent, funny, and damn sexy, so keep up the good work and move on. You'll get your little miss sunshine one day.
Edit: I'm on the brink of burning out. Too much school. I have 2-3 weeks left before Christmas holidays. Must... keep... going.

That's good Jugs, take it one step at a time. Now, say it with me, "I will never like men again in that way." Good, keep it up.

Got some better ones: "You're like a brother to me"

I'm totally disappointed in how the Sit situation has been handled. If I felt bad when Matthew left, I feel worse now.

I haven't been posting at the NLSC because I've been playing FM 07 and staying away from the computer

.
I'm such a little pimp. On Friday night i was hanging out with 1 girl watching basketball. On Saturday I hung out with her and 2 of her friends and I watched Borat (again). Then today I hung out with 5 different girls and we went town and swimming at the beach. One of the girls that was there is the one I really really like.
I, in fact, like girls.
