No offence but you should shut up about that. Qballer is awesome to have in this thread (Y) He actually contributes to making some sort of discussion... and thoughts can be shared even if they are opposing views. A forum is for discussion and sharing opinions... not everyone agreeing on the same thing. (N)

Hehe, that you'd become giddy about beating a sub-par team. Just goes to show even the fans are aware of the fact that Detroit sucks. :)

LA Times wrote:Kobe Bryant was back at work, shrugging off the first three quarters of Friday's loss and peeking ahead into a quiet week in which he hoped to regain full strength in his right leg.

Bryant said his knee stiffened up on him during a 97-83 loss to the Detroit Pistons — he had only two points before scoring 17 in the fourth quarter — but the Lakers have four days between games after playing Memphis tonight. They won't play again until Friday against Toronto, the team Bryant hit for 81 points in January.

"Four days makes a great difference," said Bryant, who feels no pain in his surgically repaired knee. "It's just a strength issue. When I play, I want to be at maximum level, to be able to defend, to be able to kick it into sixth gear, and it's not strong enough to do that yet. It will be, though."

Bryant estimated his knee was at 70% its normal strength, but said it would probably be at 95% by Friday.

The team will not practice one of the four days, and Bryant will give his knee equal parts rest and rehabilitation, the latter consisting of weight training and manual-resistance exercises that will strengthen the leg and muscles surrounding the knee.

"It's about getting over that hump, and once you get over that hump, you're fine," Bryant said.

In the meantime, he indicated there might be more games where he was in single-digit scoring entering the fourth quarter.

"It's just a matter of just reading the flow of the game and trying to help us grow as a team and sticking to what we do, and then in the fourth quarter, taking it in my hands a little bit," he said. "I don't really sweat it too much. If I have games where I have four or two [points] or something like that and things are going well for us, I'm more than happy to stick with it. If it's not, and I've got to kick it up, I'll kick it up."

What did I say? My speculation was correct. It seems that he's not physically ready yet. Still around 75% although he does say he will be at 95% by Friday... I don't buy it. I still think it will take up to January before he's at 100%. We will see though...

Game against the Grizz. I think we can win this one good. Waiting for Kwame to return and Lamar to be aggresive. (Y)

I mean, I know the Grizzlies aren't playing well right now, but every team thread I see on some forum say their team will win against the Grizzlies  I'm going to put my foot down and say the GRizzlies losing streak will end tonight against the Lakers. I expect for Atkins, Gay, Warrick, Miller, Stoudamire and Roberts to have real good games.

Lakers win tonight for sure. I'm not watching so thats on their side as well. These past few years it seems as though whenever I take the time to sit and watch them early in the season they end up struggling the night through. Thats how great a fan I am, even though I wanna watch I sacrifice for the sake of the team. :P *pats self on back*

At least the highlights are great when they win. If there werent highlights I would probably have lost meaning in life and died in a purple and gold heap.

I say keep Mihm until someone shows me a replacement we can actually get.

For some odd reason I thought the Lakers were playing tonight. Ah well.

Instead I saw the Rockets choke against the Spurs with Yao finishing cold after showing promise early. Ah well.

Mihm is good... everyone underrates his importance to the team. I don't think he will get traded. As I've said before, having 3 7 footers who can all do something from time to time whether it be score, rebound or standing around is something that not many teams can boast about.

Mihm gives us a consistent low post option and a solid rebounder and weak side defender... for him to be out for the season sucks but I don't think I or the Lakers will lose faith in a return by him.

Even if we tried to trade him, it would be hard too I think. Since he's injured... perhaps a McKie + Mihm trade can be used... expiring contract of mcKie sounds good but we wouldn't really be getting much back I think. We're better off keeping Mihm and McKie... since Aaron is close to returning, he can step up if Smush keeps underperforming.

As for his future with the lakers, I'm really not sure. Mihm, Bynum and Kwame all play their best at the C spot... so it depends what direction our team wants to take... A Kwame/Mihm or Bynum/Mihm combo seems good to me but something tells me it wouldn't work too efficiently on the court. But I still think we got a pretty good front court. It's just a shame these three are pretty inconsistent...

And Lakers play the Raptors tommorrow I think.. or the next day! Kobe's had 4 days to rest his knee for Toronto. yeahhh!

Kobe in Trouble :D

well, Mihm is good... at picking up fouls.
they should dump him for a draft pick if Kupchak knows what's best for him.

and McKie is too old for Phil... I mean, last year they had Jimmy Jackson and they didn't even play him even though he was still better than 3/4 of the players on the team.

If we can trade Mihm and McKie and someone else away for a capable PF, I would say yes. Perhaps trading Mhm, McKie, Parker for a PG or PF... not sure who would take the bait though.

McKie's form is troubling... he hasn't played in a long time. I guess the only reason he's still around is his locker room presence...

before mihm though, i'd trade vujacic. I liked kareem rush much more than vujacic.

not really.... the guy had an overblown head over his 20pt peformance in 2004.... if he had his head glued on straight he would have been decent

But Vujacic jacking fade away threes in a close game is ridiculous to watch. Definitely, painful in the ass... :x
