Ok the background videoes that are in the menu.... can they be changed?

yes they can, they are located in the movies folder i believe, search the 06 section for the VP6 encoder to create your own movies.

So you're saying, for example Kobe Bryant. If I had a highlight mix of him, I could put it in the menu screen if I wanted?

Well, technically seen yes, but a highlight mix is probably too big in size (file size and screen size) since if I remember it correctly there's a certain limit to the .vp6 files.
That and no one has really converted a video to .vp6 format without any problems as far as I know.
