Ok did some testing and here is what I found.
1: 10 min quarters. subbing is good
2: Point guard dominance is still rampid
3: I notice the differance in play in the paint now, guard will kick the ball out now if he is pinned in the lane instead of just standing there and loosing the ball.
4: Players are fatiging with the sub sliders set at 78 for both human and cpu they are subbing regularly
thats all that i have really watch as those were my major issues on my computr. everything else from stats seem to work. No crashes or glitches yet.

Damn, if I try to install the patch, it tells me that the file main\gameAPI.js file cannot be found. IT'S NEVER BEEN THERE! Why is the patch searching for a file that isn't there? Could it have something to do with the multilanguage version of live that I have? Cause in the download link, it says: ...EN-US...

my nba live is original (bought in sweden) but when im trying to install the patch it says: old file does not exist! what should i do?

the substitutions are working....but the guards are still ballhogging and taking much of the shots

It works for me., played one game Lakers agains Magic and Arroyo passed the ball so many times, he was looking for opened players., and that was great., only problem i had when i started dynasty and passed hire stuffs then my game chrashed down and i get the message., players dbf- code error wich i dont understand., but i was happy cuz things are changed in the game and its much realistic then b4 the patch.

looks great. i found a way to install the patch if u got a no-cd crack or illegal 
You have to get the original nbalive07.exe file and then install the patch and then put the no-cd crack back on. Too bad my game isnt illgel

Subs don't work for me too...Let's hope that when EA releases the official patch this problem will be solved.

So I'm not alone with this problem, this patch doesn't work. Substitution 4 sure doesn't work.

This is the official patch I think. If you click on the "Check for Updates" link in your start menu shortcut, you will be directed to the patch page. The auto-patching function doesn't work at the moment, but you have the option to download the patch. But the link on the page is broken, and as mentioned here you should replace ftp:// with http://
You need to have the ORIGINAL exe file for the patch to work. If not, then it just won't patch.
Also, you WILL NOT see the effects of the patch, if you patch the ORIGINAL exe and revert back to your CRACK. So to those who are using illegal copies of the game, sorry.
Auto-subs are already enabled in the patch. As for the other features fixed, I still don't have the time to test.
Lastly, we made complaints here and there. Now that our complaints were heard and were addressed, I think it's fair for us to also dedicate a thread of thanks to the EA team for the work they have done.

The patch edits nbalive07.exe aswell, so by using this method you might be missing out on something.

The patch doesn't alter the exe!When i install the patch the version is still 1.0.0 and when i open the exe with a HEX editor the exe isn't altered at all!

Its almost as though they purposely made the original game shit so people that wanted to play it illegally will have to go out and buy the game, because they brang out a patch afterwards that is only compatible with the original file.

I have the original version of the game and the subs are working fine....after installing the patch i just turned the substitutions menu on and upped it around 50% and voila...the cpu is subbing. Now its a much better game.......i hope they get to fix the issue on the guards taking most of the shots

Yeah like crackers won't get back on it... let's be serious.
Anyway, doesn't work here either. The screens are there (obviously since there was some .viv editing while patching) but it's doesn't work in terms of gameplay. I set the CPU Subs Frequency slider to 100 and there was only 2 CPU subs (due to foul trouble) in a 4*8 minutes game.

The patch doesn't fix that much anyway, It makes the game more or less playable, but it's still not comparable to 2K Sports.

How do I have to install this patch?
If I start the .exe-file the following text is shown:
