Talk about NBA Live 07 here.

Wow Jimmy, you must work all day long on this. I think this is definitely an adequate fix for the PG domination problem. I really like the full product you've produced here. I experimented with several teams and the shot distribution seemed pretty good as well as shot selection and teamwork.
Now maybe you can tweak the AIACT a little more. I don't know how you did it last year, but you had a lot of nice fixes in the AIACT. Maybe try to make the player collision a little smoother, in favor of the defense. And definitely fix the rebounding animation. When I go for a rebound it seems to be away from where the ball is actually coming off.

Hey Jimmy, could you upload the file on another website? It seems i can't download it cause i've used the maximum free download attempts....

el badman wrote:Did you guys read? PDub opened the 2.5 aiact release and it is identical to the default aiact so if you are saying this is miraculously fixing your game, you're fooling yourself.
Exactly.
If this AIACT isn't working for you then you must not be using the sliders or the included team strategy files correctly. I loaded all of the included components and this is a must have fix.
I'm pretty sure I know how to follow instructions. It's just not working.
Well it worked fine for me.
Opposing point guards just play like point guards now...distributing the ball, running plays and only taking shots occasionally.
All you have to do is make sure you stop the ball carrier when they get into the final 3rd of the court. If your crappy at playing D and let him go by you, naturally he will take it all the way. AI would be worse if they didnt. Of course it helps if you your pg has good D-Awareness. But not absolutely necessary. I have managed to contain them in my Bucks Dynasty...even when Blake comes on.
I never see opposing PG's put up unrealistic numbers anymore, ever since i installed the "patch". By the way, im still using v 2.5. Yet to try 3.0.
Their are still plenty of downsides though. One of the main things thats pissing me off (no fault of jimmy's) is the buggy animations. Particularly the intercept animation. It looks like the players are teleporting themselves around the court, defying all the rules of physics, just to get that ball. Gotta love that effort
Im pretty sure thats the reason behind the low interception sliders that jimmy provides. Fewer interceptions equals smoother gameplay. But it only "works" for the game if you dont exploit it. At the moment, you can pass the ball directly to the guy under the hoop, regardless if he's double, tripple or quadruple teamed. So basically you'll have to use your imagination here to pretend they will intercept if you don't follow "real life" passing patterns
I'll let you know how i go with 3.0

I don't know if it's just me but when I tried Jimmy's 2.5 file, the starting 5 of the CPU never got subbed the whole game
Another stupid question, does the CPU have stamina bars too? I can't seem to remember, mine doesn't. I don't know if it's related to my issue above.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!

None of those issues have anything to do with Jimmy's aaict. Live came stock with those issues and a patch is in progress.

I know of the USER substitution bug where the fatigued players are not subbed but is the CPU also part of it? I mean the CPU does not sub too because ONLY the starting 5 plays the whole game unless they get into foul trouble. Also the CPU does not have stamina bars.
I don't know but I think I remember when I first played the game without any patches, CPU was subbing even if players are not yet in foul trouble.
Sorry for being stupid but just wanna know.
Thanks.

The cpu sub only during garbage time and when a player is in foul trouble

@Jimmy: Can you help? I need a tutorial for teams.dbf to play my existing dynasty with your patch
pushkin22 wrote:Jimmy wrote:i change the strategy of each team just as real life, e.g. sun play faster gameplay rymthm, spur will play more defense..........etc.....
Can you explain exactly what you changed? Which rows/columns in teams.dbf did you edit? And what did you insert there?
Jimmy wrote:backup all the needed stuff and try.........u will see the difference.......if dun like after u try, rollback by yr backup!
I've tried your patch but you cannot use it in the dynasty mode because if you copy the teams.dbf into the dynasty folder all statistics will be replaced/reseted. So I (not only me) need a tutorial from you how I can use 2.5 fix in a existing dynasty, actually only a tutorial for editing the teams.dbf file in a existing dynasty folder...

Just a little question.
I saw that in DPMAIN field about 22 on 30 teams use the zone as defensive strategy. It seems non real, because I think that the primary defensive strategy of all the teams is a man to man strategy.

Other versions were working better I guess, are they somewhere?=D

Just tested the 3.0 aiact. I must say you are doing a wonderful job, Jimmy. I saw the cpu swing the ball around the wings a few times. They passed the ball more frequently, too. On one play Dirk Nowitzki got a pass a few feet off the elbow, stepped around a quick screen and nailed a jumpshot. Here's some cpu stats from the game I played.
Some issues/wishlist
- I noticed the cpu likes to penetrate alot with their main offensive threats, although with this version I am able to double team them quickly and they have to pass out of it. Wondering if you can lower their attempts at penetration.
- I'd like to see more passes into the post.
- The cpu still makes almost all of the inside shots with contact. I'm not sure if you can do anything about that.
- Sometimes off of a rebound the ball will be brought up by the rebounder.
I am looking forward to your next update.

Just a lil question ... does this aiact change the moves of the FFS and dunk packages, because I would like to keep the old moves, since I am about to pratice them
Sat Oct 21, 2006 2:50 am
Just Fantastic!!!!
Great Work...
Sat Oct 21, 2006 3:02 am
Iagree The game works much better with the new version..My Pg is now the 3rd leading shot taker..Instead of 3 times the amount of everyone else on the team.
JIMMY GREAT WORK THANK YOU

With this 3.0 aiact no matter how much I try to fake a CPU Player he don't jump.My Fakeout discipline is at 100.

thats why. Turn down the cpu fakeout discipline and they will start to fall for fakes.

@Pdub
Pavel Podkolzin is no longer with the Mavs, they released him and he plays for Moscow (I think it's Xinki)......your roster could use an update......
Sat Oct 21, 2006 8:39 am
Pdub, you got a shitload of rebounds for a game with 7 min quarters... maybe you should turn down the game speed or something to limit shot attempts?
Sat Oct 21, 2006 9:17 am
Don't worry about my roster, once the patch is out, I'll grab one.
There is nothing wrong with 85 shot attempts and 45 boards. They're only a bit above the league average. I should increase the fouls, they are too low. Then the FG attempts will drop and I/cpu will get to the line more.

Yeah, if the subs could have played, the rebounds would have been spread out and 45 would be regular I guess.

Jimmy youve done a great job on this 3.0 version,, but upon loading your patch ,, my dynasty team which is suppossed to be Phoenix suns has changed to rockets, what happen? IM playing the suns in dynasty mode before the v3.0,,
Sat Oct 21, 2006 11:08 am
If you replaced a dynasty teams.dbf file with the one from his archive, you can open it in DBF commander and change the field "IS HUMAN" to "TRUE" for your team, and change it to "FALSE" for the Rockets. Although you messed up the Win-Loss records and the team stats for all teams by doing that.
Sat Oct 21, 2006 2:44 pm
before starting a new dynasty do i have to edit any dbf files using jimmys v.3 patch? or just place the aiact, currentbf, workingbf, origindf to their respective folders, then start a new dynasty
Sat Oct 21, 2006 6:51 pm
Could anybody answer my question ... plz ?
Does this aiact change the FFS moves or the dunking animations like the aiacts last year, because I really like the new moves and just want a fix for PG domination.
Sat Oct 21, 2006 7:12 pm
i don't know what changes jimmy did with the aiact but you can rename your original aiact to something like aiactORIG then copy in jimmy's aiact. if you don't like it then just delete it and rename aiactORIG to aiact again.
the custom team plays are probably more important so you can try using just those first.
