Talk about NBA Live 07 here.

I wrote the rules for the Madden Challenge when it started, and didn't go to the community until the second year.
Currently I'm not involved with EA or with the NBA Live Challenge, but think it will be useful to send a petition for rules for the NBA Live Challenge.
Keep in mind the event, if like Madden, is live and must be finished in about 10 hours. In Madden, for example, prelim rounds are played with two minute quarters.
So, what rules do people suggest? I can submit the petition to the right people.
Can someone explain how sigs were collected for the bug petition?
A quick take:
Prelim rounds:
2 minute quarters
Superstar
Fatigue off (at least until sub bug is fixed)
standard (default sliders)
Limit intentional fouls to final quarter (some number max, such as 3 unless down by under five points in the final minute.)

2 minute quarters? why would you need to sub anyway?...all players can handle 4 minues at a time until half.....then they recharge....i hate playing online because of the people who try to shorten games cuz they think they're good and will jump off to a quick start and then quit when we get to the half and i'm up....(happens in madden also)

In the Madden Challenge, it was necessary to keep games to about 15 minutes long of total time, including playcalling and subbing etc.
How long in real time will four minute quarter games take?

Since when is this possible?

I competed in the 2005 event and everything was at default with difficulty on starter. I like the idea of setting some rules, but I don't think there is an option to turn fatigue on or off in 07. Do you know if its going to be the next gen version or current gen?

Maybe fatigue can't be turned off.
Starter seems to be the wrong difficulty for competition.

I just went to the site to look at the rules...

The rules look pretty good, but some are leftovers from Madden that don't apply.
For example, the no shaking or jiggling rule has nothing to do with NBA Live. In Madden the offensive player can look side to side to make it impossible for the defensive player to make adjustments. There is no such movement possible in NBA Live. (correct me if I'm wrong.)
The "all sliders to middle" also applies to Madden, rather than to NBA Live. Defaults in NBA Live aren't necessarily "middle" or 50%. "All other settings to defaults" is the better wording for that rule.
They could use some rules to regulate intentional fouls. But the "no unnecessary delays" allows an official to make a judgement as to whether fouls are being used within the framework of the game, or just to annoy the opponent.
