Talk about NBA Live 07 here.

In NBA Live 07 when you have lighting enabled the created faces you import are too shiny. This is because of an alpha file located within the 07 fsh file. Here is how to fix it using Cazurro's Jorge Garbajosa face as an example.
I used FSHLINE, by dragging the fsh onto the FSHLINE.exe to extract the fsh of brent barry(just who i used could probably use almost anyone) and copied over his bhed bitmap (0000.bmp) with garbajosa's bhed. I used FSHLINE to compile the fsh back together and change the name to jagarba.fsh, insert into the sgsm and the lighting on the face is fixed.

Download FSHLINE
Hereand thanks to PDub for giving me the heads up on this program.
Hope this helps you patchers out there.

^Use FSHx to extract a bmp of an 07 cyberface(bhed). Open your photoediting program and open the bmp you just extracted, and the bhed of the player you want to update or add to the game. Copy the bhed and paste it over the 07 players face. Save as a 32 bit bmp. Import it with FSHx into the 07 FSH. Place in sgsm directory.
FSHx doesn't read the alpha files of these bmp's, so it doesn't work. I posted another tutorial using png files towards the bottom of the page
FSHLINE is a good program for FSH's(especially ones that you can't open in FSHx), but this year 07 FSH's use alphas. So if you HAVE to use fshline, you have to edit the DDS files instead of the PNG's because PNG's don't have alphas. There is a DDS import/export plugin for Adobe Photoshop at nvidia.com . If you ever choose to use DDS files, when you save them in Adobe a box will come up with options. To the upper left there is box where you can choose the texture compression format of the DDS. You can choose DXT1, DXT3, DXT5, etc. Choose something with an alpha. I use "8 : 8 : 8 : 8 ARGB (32 bit)".

I think for 06 you could use someone's settings who has lighting to make you game have lighting but I'm noy sue. You might want to check out 06 patching issues or technical issues. It might still work for 07.

Okey I extracted that face that I want to fix and what to do know? How to put that alpha?
Fri Oct 06, 2006 2:31 pm
Is there any way to make a program where you can convert a batch of them? ie
go to your directory and type unshiny *.fsh and it will insert a default alpha file into each one?
Or open the program, choose open file and select all the .fsh files you want, and have the program extract the bhed and import it to an '07?
Then we could quickly convert tons of '06 faces.

I'll look into it.

Me sentiments exactly. All I need is a program that can batch extract DDS files from FSH's. I tried dragging a bunch of FSH's on FSHLINE, it only extracted the first one.

Actually, I would be happy if someone (OleEnglish this goes mainly to you

) could make a simple and friendly windowed program in which you will load up your CF from a directory and it will extract to another directory the non-shiny CF (the program will use a defualt alpha file).
If you really manage to make a program that handles a number of files instead of one it would be perfact, for now I settle will handling only one file.

You can make an action in Photoshop that will insert an image into the alpha channel of a cyberface, then run a batch process in adobe to perform the action on a bunch of files. Thats what I did with the arm and leg sweat. Only thing is you have to extract all the images first and put them in the same directory.

I know it might be a pain in the ass for you but can you post a video in which you show how to take a 06 CF and make it work in 07 without the shine? I have tried to do what you said but it didn't work..

For the 06 Face....
1. Open 06 face with fshx
2. Export the face in Double Resolution as a BMP or DDS
And then the 07 Face....
1. Open a 07 Fsh file with FshX
2. Export the face as a DDS file
Afterwards...
1. Open Adobe Photoshop
2. Open the 07 face DDS file
3. Open the 06 BMP/DDS file
4. Copy the 06 face onto the 07 RGB layer
5. Stretch the 06 face so that it fits the parameters for the 07 face
6. Save the 07 DDS
7. In the little popup, I always use 8 : 8 : 8 : 8 ARGB (32 bit), use that and SAVE.
Then...
1. Open the 07 Fsh file again with FshX
2. Import the 07 DDS that you just edited
3. The thing you imported should be blue-ish (if not, redo)
4. Save
5. Put into SGSM
That should do it... I'd do a video thing but no idea on how do so.. Pretty sure those instructions are as easy and simple as they get.

, question about this part:

I have a V.Carter CF from 06 and I think it's 512*512 and I tried to work with a D.Wade CF from 07 and I think it's 512*512 too, so why do I need to export the VC one in double resolution?

great I could find the plugin for paintshop pro ! now my CF and tats look good but we have to find out why we cant use 07 FSH with its particular DDS with the EBO files from 06 cuz now I don't have the headshape taht I once wanted (troy murphy's one in 06) and I noticed taht almost all players have the same hair cut shape :/
Thu Oct 19, 2006 2:56 am
ScottyInsane, have you tried an 06 FSH with an 06 headshape in 07? It probably won't work. This year the headband file seems to be in the headshape EBO, unlike last year. I think that's why they don't work.
Thu Oct 19, 2006 6:03 am
yep I tried the 06 fsh with 06 EBO and it works perfectly (i don't use headband), but I could not play with lighting "on". With 07 FSH I can play with lighting but I can't use them with 06 EBO as there seems that there are not that much of differents EBO or i have a bug lol :/
Thu Oct 19, 2006 7:02 am
You can get the plugin for Photoshop to open DDS files here
http://download.nvidia.com/developer/NV ... 9.1500.exe
and if they are both the same sizes, then whatever. I just always do it with double-resolution just in case the image needs to be bigger, so that the quality will be at maxed.
Thu Oct 19, 2006 7:05 am
yeah this problem is solved, the plugin seems not to work with CS2 but I could install it on paint shop pro 9 so I could work on my CF. Now my problem is to find a way to convert the complete set of 06 Troy Murphys EBO to work with my 07 CF
Thu Oct 19, 2006 9:39 am
Why can't you play with lighting on with the 06 cyberface/ebo? Shine?
Fri Oct 20, 2006 4:52 am
yeah it's overshining lol
