hey D MAVS i did the same here from Italy, and i cannot play the game...it's waiting for the european release....I just wrote to EA saying that i'm kind of pissed off, since they let me buy the NA version i'm supposed to play it since today...I hope them to answer too, i suggest u to send a email too....lets keep in contact, to see if one of us can get to play the game....

Yeah, i just bought it as i figured the worst that would happen is i would have to wait till the UK release, and i was planning on buying it for that anyway. But its put the release date to the 6th October now so its going to make me wait which is annoying.

I can understand them not realising it here now if they dont have enough produced to supply all of europe, but if its letting me download it whats the problem with me playing it already! Everyone else in the US will be allowed to play it. I'll give EA a email too but i would be extremly suprised if it acheives anything.

I'm not sure about the downloader but if you order from EB's online store (or anywhere else that'll ship games internationally; Amazon.com usually doesn't) you can get the PC version since that isn't region specific.

I wonder if anyone has tried to forward the internal system clock in their PC and see if it lets them play.
Disable the autosync with time server aswell before you try it.

Oh man im even more pissed off now! I had it on 80% downloaded last night when i paused it and turned off my PC and now its starting all over again this morning! It let me restart my PC yesterday and continue downloading so whys it starting again now!

Thanks andrew, but i already payed for it off EA downloader now but i'll keep that in mind for Live 08.

Andrew, Ive always thought that PC games were region free, but check this out:

http://cgi.ebay.com/NBA-Live-07-PC-Game ... dZViewItem

[qoute]Format: NTSC (US, Canada)[/quote]

Since I don't know a whole lot about games or ebay, do you know if ebay makes you state a format and he seller just assumed it was NTSC, or is it region locked because it is on DVD???

Wed Sep 27, 2006 8:45 pm

maybe with the dvd can be locked. but i really dont think so

I've never seen a DVD on eBay that didn't specify its region but I've never sold anything on eBay so I'm not sure to be honest. I do know that you can change the region on a DVD-ROM drive but only a limited number of times before it's locked.

PC Games are region free.

As for not being able to play the US version before Euro release if you live in Europe, this is usually due to distribution agreements. If the game was available online before it's available in stores, loads of people would buy the online version and ignore the store version, cutting down on distributor profit. While EA probably has their own distribution system for most major markets (afterall, they are first and foremost a distributor, but do have their own development studios), they'll still have deals with local companies for game distribution etc.

The funny thing is that the DL version still costs the same, even though EA does not have to pay local distributors and stores any cuts... but then again, when was a company ever charitable when it came to game prices? (and the "same price for DL and store version" is also probably part of most distribution deals).

I knew it wouldnt work, but i decided to try changing the system clock. It bought up the ready to install button which wasnt there before i changed the date, but then a error message comes up saying,

'Unable to authorize decryption
Please ensure that the clock is set correctly on your computer, and try again. If the problem persists, wait, then try again later. The download service maybe unavailable'.

:( Looks like i'll have to wait till the 6th October then :(
