it's a surprise they have Thabo Sefolosha missing. He was drafted fairly high. I also remember Vassilis Spanoulis making some big headline on realgm, something about the highest paid 2nd round in history of NBA or something. Maybe the EA people should start reading realgm.

I don't know that this is a glitch as much as it just is a change. I cannot do the outlet pass or the last defender switch like in previous Lives. I haven't consulted the manual yet, but I'm thinking they've either removed it (which would disappoint me), or they've made it controlled differently.

Well, it feels like it's a bug cuz the manual does mention the possibility of switch to the last defender by "tapping" on the direct pass button. I thought maybe I need to double-tap or something but nothing works...
I must say I did tweak the sliders a bit before even playing cuz some setting were kinda weird.
I'm just disappointed that it looks to much like '06 for now, but I'm sure that I'll find some more good points later on.

Must....have.....the game...... :furious:

I should stop reading the forums for the next 12.5 hours to save myself the emotional distress.

For me, the game is 100% less acracish than Live 06, the new animations are superb, there's much less of the sliding feeling, etc. Be honest, has any other Live straight out of the box without editing sliders or anything played this well, in terms of gameplay? The answer for me is a definitive no. Remember last year when with default sliders you could get like 40 steals a game with the FSS Defensive Locks and just abuse other FSS to no extent?

I feel like now the FSS is a risk/reward type deal, and I've found myself trailing when I try to use it too frequently, and find myself much more successful trying to work an offense and find a gap, an open look, or a lane, than trying to do what has been successful in previous NBA Live's.

The game has bugs, but so does every one, and once we see past those, I think we'll see the best NBA Live release ever.

I think I have to calm down. bigh0rt, Ive seen the light. Heres some problems and how they effect me:

- Only can play 82 game season (I was going to play that anyway, so no problem here)

- CPU Do not sub often (This sucks because I'm a realism freak. Hopefully they bring out some sort of fix)

- Save stats button (Never used it, always just saved my stats from the box scores on the schedule)

- Incorrect courts, some missing jerseys (We are a patching community, no problems here)

- Missing key players (I really don't mind it when they don't say the players name after they create them, the fact that he is there is what counts)

- No signature jumpshots (I was looking forward to this, but Ive lived without it for years, why complain now?)

Good Things:

- Great gameplay (This is what I wanted)

- Nice presentation (Making the game look pretty is just a bonus)

- FSS changes (The reason why I never bought 06, looks like they have really fixed this)

- X-Factor (This is a great addition to the game, because from everything I have heard, it works)

So yeah, I think I overreacted. I they fix up some of those minor glitches, solve the subs problem and (for those of you who on't play 82 game seasons) Add the old short and medium length seasons in.

From the screens of T-Mac and Marion shooting..i assume what EA meant by siganature shooting style are they just taking in the shooting styles they got from the 3 point shooting competition..'nice' tweak again EA Sports.. (N)

anyway the dunk pack thing is a good addition IMO..

That is certainly a much more level-headed approach to assessing the game, and one I wish more people would take. Look at the positives and weigh them vs the negatives here. For one, the positives are the core of the game, while the negatives are secondary (IMO, at least). Secondly, most of those negatives will be fixed by the patching community, and even some that you may not think (I'm certain people will be working on the sub bug as well as somehow making it possible to save stats).

So, all in all, to say Live 07 hasn't fully exceeded my expectations would be a complete understatement. I'm thrilled with this game right now and cannot stop playing it. I can't stop saying it, either -- best Live ever, out of the box; and will be the best Live post-patches.

I hear ya. My copy has left SLC and is on its way down. Earlier today I was way hyped but now......Im only a little hyped. But I belive if they fix those things like 82 games only and a couple other little things, it will be the best Live to date.

Honestly, thats not saying much.

All i need to know is whether or not in Dynasty, the CPU subs are somewhat realistic? In actual gameplay, not sim. That's basically the deciding factor of me buying or not.

Wed Sep 27, 2006 2:37 pm

I think I might know why there is only 82 game seasons. It might have something to do with the new stuff like player chemistry and simming. If not why else would they take it out?

They took out a lot of stuff that doesn't make sense. In-game saves and saving stats, to name a couple.

Wed Sep 27, 2006 2:40 pm

i gotta say I love the celebrations in this game

Agreed. They are done perfectly. The cut isn't too long or short, and there are a ton of different reactions and animations.

In game saves has been gone for a long time. Saving stats would of been nice for the classic teams in 06 when playing series in exhibition mode.

Wed Sep 27, 2006 2:44 pm

Could you explain some examples of celebrations?

True, but it was something that was often requested and it caused the biggest reaction at the time when they removed it. The saving stats are for online leagues, which is/was popular when they still had that feature.

thank you to everyone sharing about the new game :D
Could someone please post a screenshot of Chris Bosh, and/or Jose Calderon. Thanks.
Also, at least one of them in the new (home) jersey

So many Raptors-related requests....I guess it's because Colangelo went very international and we've got a lot of Europeans around here.

YES!!! CHRIS BOSH HAS A SMALL HEAD!!!!

does a deflected pass still equal a turnover?

There are no more massive heads at all anymore. EA put in a whole new headshape system into the game, and it really shows. Looks much better, now.

Haven't checked the deflection/turnover thing yet.

Doesn't look much like Bosh...first subpar cyberface I've seen.

Wed Sep 27, 2006 4:19 pm

Wed Sep 27, 2006 4:38 pm

So,
In -

There is no SIGnature Jumpshots
There is huge list of missing players
The only lenght of dynasty is 82games per season + playoffs in 7/7/7/7 system
No subs by CPU
Not too good shirts quality
No save stats button
Missing shirts

In +
Changing a FSS on the court
X-Factor
Gameplay
A lot of great cyberfaces

My Questions
1.What about ESPN Integration??
2.Did they added some new features in Ceate Player/Edit Player??
