my first impression..

i got the game last night, 25 Sept - Singapore time. PC version.

I thought it fell very much like 2006 with some minor feautres added. They made the navigation slightly better, added new features to the dynasty, but overall it's almost the same.

Graphic is definitely better this year. The player heads are more proportional to the body. movements are smooth, and they are no longer sliding.

Gameplay-wise, it fell better than last year. Although, it's also my first time using a game pad (used to play solely on keyboard), so I'm still finding my way to it. I'm getting lost with the individual dunk, layup, and shoot buttons. I can't seem to make my players dunk. They would jump and start dunking, but halfway through they'll release the shot like a layup.. even tried in practice mode but i can't get it right.

I thought there was also too little low-post action, even from the computer-team. The point guard seem to dominate too much. I was playing a random dynasty and was against vince carter's team, who also had TJ Ford. TJ had 31 points to VC's 15.

I've only played it for about 4 hours, so obviously, i haven't tried everything yet..

I haven't seen the signature jumpers yet.

I'm not really a fan of jerseys, so I can't recognize fake from authentic if I see it in a game.. Furthermore, I play on my laptop, an IBM T42 with a 32MB ATI Radeon 7500 video card. It doesn't allow me to see the jerseys in good detail

There are some ESPN branded content in the game.. In dynasty, there's a ESPNStatCentral and some Rumors section.. Rumors aren't that helpful.
Although, i find the player chemistry and player info very interesting, althought I'm not sure if they will really help in improving the team.

Lol now that we know you have it, could you talk about the game play a bit more? Does the CPU catch up on fast breaks like always?

They don't catch up with fast breaks. But i noticed, my players seem to run slower than CPU. When I'm on fast break, i see the CPU players closing the gap (but not enough to stop the fast break). But when they're on fast break, they leave my players behind.. as in really falling behind.
There's this point guard M. Williams who keep outrunning jason williams (controlled by me) in the break.

Thanks for the info This was my biggest gripe with past lives. Another question... When u pass the ball to a team mate (especially a long pass) does the player take ages to shoot, hence not being open anymore? It was a big prob in live 2005
