I'm definetely getting nba 2k7.
I got the demo , played it, and been playng it non stop. Its won me over with its slick gameplay, accurate ball physics, fluid player movements none of that jerking shit like in nba live, indepth dynasty type mode not the baby's toy which is nba live.

In nba 2k7 it isn't a dunk fest, guys pulling 360's in the paint among a crowd of defenders, 250 signiture shots for real, there is a list out of who has one already.

You can actually stop 'superstars' in the game, and if its a charge, it'll be called one. Not like in nba live where stars just run over you cause they need to dunk the ball. You can set subs on the fly, different dribbling animations for differnt players, not just positions. You can't sub a centre to the guard spots (maybe for kg but we'll see about that.. ) ..etc etc...

Best yet, they probably haven't removed anything to add something utterly useless/a gimmick in.

i personally like live better cos its dynasty mode is better than 2k's association mode.

Whaaaa??? Association mode is light years ahead.

To be fair, I read the NBA 2K7 current-gen is basically just a roster update and all of the good new features are in the 360, so anyone who hasn't got a next-gen console might wanna consider that.

Sun Sep 24, 2006 9:44 pm

Yeah thats true, 2k7 on current gen is pretty shit.

Mon Sep 25, 2006 12:26 am

All the way to 2K7 :) :)

Mon Sep 25, 2006 2:39 am

I have been getting both versions since 2K5, before that i had just been purchasing NBA Live, but i enjoy the 2K7 Presentation. Again this year i will be getting both. I dont understand why people are really debating which one to get. Both games are going to be good in their own right. Go out and get both and your problem is solved.

Mon Sep 25, 2006 2:40 am

Nobody gives a fuck what game you get.

Mon Sep 25, 2006 5:45 am

2k7 on current gen is basically a roster update, though I am looking forward to on the go subs and 3 team trades and half time replays instead of those stupid pictures. I still think those little updates are worth the 30 dollar price tag so I'm definately getting it for PS2.
It's funny how people always said, I've tried out he 2k series and just found it tottaly boring. And now that 2k made a demo, and people actualy have played it, they seem to all like it. If 2k would advertise more they could sell sooo much more.

Not everyone can afford both games or only want which ever one is better and then spend the rest of their money on another game.
It depends what I'm playing on, if its next-gen I would get 2K7 but I would probably still get Live 07 for PC.

Mon Sep 25, 2006 7:05 am

Its funny how about half of the people on here prefer 2k over Live knowing that this is a Live Forum!

So which game do you want to buy? Well it depends on which you like more, if you like realism go with 2k7 but if you like arcade games go with Live 07.

You can try 2k7 demo on x360 marketplace, that tells you something: 2k is letting their consumers decide if they want to purchase their game by trying it before the release date! Something EA couldn't do, they will wait probably a week after the release to put the demo on 360 marketplace.

Personally I think: Live is filled with shit! You ask why? Well my friend, if you played Live 06 for 360 then you would know that
1. they didn't include new features rather downgraded themselves.
2. they look good in picture(graphics) but not so much in gameplay.
3. Online: Spin, Spin, and Spin some more toward the basket and dunk the ball! Stealing on inbounds, etc. And some players who's shots are unstopable. For example, I played someone online yesterday and against the Rockets, the guy shot 20 foot jumpers with Yao making it 90 percent of the time with my guys double teaming right in his face, also made 2 3's with YAO! What the fu#kkkk? 2 3's with YAO????

Lets put it this way, this NBA Live game is FUC#ED UP.

NBA2k7, is not as good looking as Live in graphics or face mocks, but what would you buy the game for? GAMEPLAY, long-lasting enjoyment of what YOU PAID FOR!

READ the REVIEWS at gamespot by the authors & random users before you decide which game to look for.

i like live controls better and its more fun heck im even playing live 06 right now been playing since it came out lmao

Mon Sep 25, 2006 7:25 am

True, BUT if you read the professional reviews and users reviews you get a very good idea of which game has the edge over the other. Why rent both of them for a total of about $20 dollars when you can buy one around $50 online? I sure as hell wouldn't go and rent both, instead I would & will try the demos on xlive marketplace, while knowing it's only the demo, you cannot get all info and features from the demo. Therefore I would read the reviews and decide on which game has an advantage.

Most couldnt give a decent/detailed reason (or course there are a select few) why they would choose 07 over Live but I 'reckon' they just wanna seem cool as it has become quite a trend around here to bash/hate/put down Live in any situation presented.

I'm glad people here bash and hate EA because it makes our voices heard to show EA how we feel as consumers and try to demand somewhat on what WE WANT! Keep it up my friends!

Yah, EA Needs to be bashed so that they will make better products in the future.

just finished downloading the 2k7 demo so I will try it out and see how it feels, I really wish EA would release a demo for Live but oh well.

Live controls are better. It offers more control as you get to choose a layup or a dunk. In 2K I really don't like the shot stick, and sometimes a player will go for a dunk when he should have just layed it in.

Mon Sep 25, 2006 1:26 pm

2k is also alot easier to make a rookie into a superstar. As you are able to focus on training individual attributes. I think it should be toned down a bit, but still a nice feature. Whilst in Live you basically pray and hope that the stat you want will increase as the training options are very broad. both controls are easy enough. I like the variations off the dribble in 2k, and the superstar moves in live (NOT ALL THE TIME).

That's really easy to control, took me maybe a week to get it perfect.

I strongly doubt that... people have been into 2K for a while now, some people even since the old Dreamcast games. For every moron who comes in and says "bi 2k cuz live fukin sux" there's another 5 Live related guys who do the same (since this is an NBA Live forum obviously).

Can you explain it to me?? Another question. Do you know if player progression has been toned down this year for 2K7??? Because it was very easy to develop your players by practices and player development. I hated that.

Get 2k7, your definitely going to get more value for your money and it will be years ahead of live.
