Thank you for sharing your insightful knowledge. Up until this point, I had no idea PC was "straight up wack." I have now seen the light.

well, it seems its the PC fans time to get screwed.
There is absolutely no reason why we shouldnt have the next gen ratings. Those ratings will make the game. Lack of those ratings will brake the game.
Im contemplating not paying for live this year on PC. I wont be buying a 360 or PS3 either, thats for sure. Im thinking of simply aquiring the game, and sacraficing the online play, for the price that reflects the true value of this title.

im happy the ratings didnt come in this year, imagine if they didnt work properly and made the game awful. sure we would have roster patches but they wouldnt come very often because of the amount of work that would need to be done.

Can someone who has extensively played it on PC and Xbox/PS2 comment on the differences/similarities when it comes to gameplay... the controller issues etc?
You can use the ps2/xbox controller on pc if ur used to 1.
Yeah, i use my xbox controller on the pc.
You just need to get an adapter so you can plug it into your USB ports.
Just go to any major gaming store and ask for an "XBOX to PC controller adaptor". Mine was about $20 (aus) which would be roughly $15 US...and that was a few years ago when they first came out. Check online stores as well as EBAY. Should be easy to find, and much cheaper than mine was.

You could say that about any new feature or the game itself "imagine if it doesnt work properly".
Imagine if it does

yea your right, but personally I would like to see the ratings work properly before they implement them into the PC version

Fair enough, but is it too much to expect for everything to at least "work properly" before they sell it to us?
I dont care if they get every players ratings wrong. Whats the difference, we...i mean Andrew will have to fix them anyways (with our helpful suggestions of course

).
How cool would this be:
Draft Night:
- You need a PF/C.
You are tossing up between a 6'11 230lbs PF from UCLA...hes athletic, great verticle, great shotblocker/rebounder...but totally lacks footwork on offence and has ZERO post savy.
The other prospect is a 6'10 245lbs PF from Greece. This guy is an average up and down athlete, very strong but barely gets off the ground. Plays solid if not spectacular D...but he is a master in the post. Post savy is off the charts and footwork is impecable...very crafty too.
Who do you choose???
See for the next gen players that could be a reality. For us PC players it will be a toss up between a guy with 57 inside scoring and 83 inside scoring
Ive got a feeling these ratings will be a major improvement for this series. And we miss out

Even though Ive never ever owned the most up to date Live and therefore never experienced Andrews roster updates, I am sure its our priviledge and not his obligation to do so. If I do get 07, I know that I would rather have EA's old defualt rating scheme than a completely revamped system that is full of bugs and flaws. I say this because even though we will have much more control over ratings, if the system is flawed, it would be very tough and time consuming for Andrew or any other roster patcher for that matter to make an accurate roster patch. This in turn would mean less roster patches, and those minimal patches that do come out, won't be very accurate because we do not yet know how each rating effects the gameplay.
If it works, thats great, go for it in 08. But I wouldnt risk what looks like a promising game on a new rating scheme just yet.

Yeah, dont get me wrong, i dont take Andrews work for granted. He has always done a great job and i appreciate it. Ive been playing Live since 95' and have visited this great site for roster updates and other patches since Tim and Lutz ran the place.
Andrew could take all the time in the world making the roster patches. Theres no rush. So he would make fewer updates. Doesnt bother me...but thats just me.
I guess your right, waiting another year will inevitably ensure the ratings, and the effect they have on gameplay, will be fine tuned...nevertheless, it will be agonizing wait...particulary if the next gen people rub it in

particulary if the next gen people rub it in
And if it all goes to hell, we will be the ones rubbing it in
