Duh... why can't they make a cyberface being displayed for generated rookies (and some other players that don't have a portrait)? I mean, it was in NBA Live 2003 and it can't be done now? (N)

Yeah, haven't been here in a while. Planning to become active again when '07 comes out.
Thanks for the review mate!

That's correct. I remember noticing a couple of new layups for outside scorers but there's a lot more to be discovered since a couple of hours isn't nearly long enough to play with everyone and see all the new moves.

Awesome, glad to hear. :)

Yes, they'll be updated. I didn't catch the date but I'd assume a couple more updates will have taken place since that build anyway. It definitely won't be as far back as May 8th though.

thanks for the review Andrew. (Y)

i have 1 question (sorry if you answer it before):
-regarding the passing..., from what i had read, the longest you press the farthest the pass. PES style...
but what about the return pass...? i mean in the previous live we press and hold the pass button, release to get the return. is this feature still there?

I'm guessing given the games release is late September (mid October for Oceania), that the roster cutoff date will be sometime in the past few weeks....I'd say trades like the Al Harrington one will not be in the game, but a top signing like Sean Marks to Phoenix should make the grade

hey andrew one more question for you, i know that we can redo the draft, and that all the players traded during the draft are still on the new team, but my question is, if we do a redraft, and your team traded away thier pick during the draft(like the celtics) will the celtics have that pick or does the pick go to the team they traded the pick to?

I'm pretty sure it will have the already-traded picks. Ex: Chi#4, Port#2. Since it will have the players traded that were traded for picks, so it wouldn't really be fair to keep the original picks.

I think so. If not, Off-Ball control is definitely still in the game.

The picks will be assigned to the team that traded for them by default, so some teams won't have a draft choice and some teams will have swapped picks already (eg Bulls 4th, Blazers 2nd). You can choose to reset/randomise/rearrange that though if you'd like to restore the original draft order or create a customised one.

So I'll be able to edit Tyrus into a 6'11 bad ass big man and assign the #1 overall pick to the Bulls :proud:?

andrew, is it true that the gameplay is terrible and ball physics are all over the place? we know you've played the game, so can you confirm if these are true? thanks..

I guess it's a matter of perspective. There were some animation glitches in the build that I played which the producers acknowledged before we'd even gotten our hands on the game but I didn't think the shots looked awkward or that the ball physics were all over the place. I think there'll be a learning curve with player momentum and squaring up/gathering distance though.

That's not to say it's perfect but I wouldn't deem it terrible. But as I said, it's a matter of opinion so I can't really confirm if it's terrible or not. All I can do is give an honest opinion and in my honest opinion the gameplay isn't nearly as bad as that article suggests. Perhaps he noticed flaws that I didn't but I wouldn't describe the gameplay as he did.

Can you tell us what kind of animation glitches they told you about before you played the (NExt Gen) version of the game? Maybe they already fixed these problems if you think it's not as bad as IGN says it is

Thanx

Andrew quick question about the redo draft feature. If we so choose to redo the draft are the rosters acurrate as of draft day and such things as FA and trades that were completed post-draft are null and void correct?

Sometimes players would find themselves behind the backboard unexpectedly when going for a dunk or layup (getting an out of bounds call) and a couple of the dunk animations looked a bit strange sometimes.

Already answered that one. ;) No, none of the other transactions are undone. By default the draft picks will be assigned to the team that ended up with them (or the player that was taken with that pick and later traded as the case may be).

andrew are we able to change superstar abilities in the game menu while the game is on?? ı mean think about that in a game 1second left your team down by 2 you took a time-out you want kobe to change highflyer to shooter, it's a complicated thing and time issue that give the ball kobe change him to shooter is hard to do in 1 second right? ı hope you understand what ı asked...

Hey Andrew, I hope this hasn't been asked before cause I tried to search this thread as much as possible.

I've heard rumours on other boards about offline co-op play being non-existant. Could you please confirm/deny if you can still have 4 player co-op offline ala NBA Live 06 on 360 or if it's gone the path of Madden 07 and you can only have 2 player vs matches?

Cheers mate.

I couldn't see an option for it so I'd say you can only toggle it during gameplay or in the roster management screens from the main menu or in Dynasty Mode. I might have just missed it but I don't think you can.

I know you can have two player games with and against the other player but I'm not aware of the situation with four player games, sorry.

UPDATE: Looks like it is possible, as confirmed in the TeamXBOX interview:

Tim Tschirner: In addition to supporting up to four players in offline Gameplay, we have a new Multiplayer Co-op Online game mode this year where up to four players on one Xbox 360 will be able to play online against another group of up to four players on another Xbox 360. We track the win and loss records for these games in a section of our Leaderboards dedicated to this game mode, so the best groups will be represented. In addition, our Lobby includes a Room specifically dedicated to this mode, so it will be easier for groups to find match-ups that they are interested in playing.

It's mostly small improvements from what I saw.

Andrew, thanks for the impressions. I have a 360 question, are you able to pause the game and look at an instant replay. I know last year they took that option out.I'm hoping they put it back in.
