So just to recap I do get which buttons do what and how they work together. What I don't get is, when you back someone down and press the FSS trigger you'd always pull off the same move (the move depending on which FSS type your player currently is) and it also seems like it would be impossible to switch FSS type (that is press R3) while backing down an opponent. I don't know how else to explain it than what I've written in the quoted posts. But if you can't understand what I mean you don't have to respond to this post - I'll just have to wait until September

Okay it's pretty simple. You wouldn't be able to switch FSS type while backing down, you'd have to do that before you start backing down. As soon as you catch the ball change your FSS ability while your back is to the basket. Then once you start backing down and you decide what move you want to do you're going to have to stop backing down (let go of the right analog stick) and do a FSS move by pushing the stick in a different direction. It's kind of obvious, EA wouldn't make players backing down use the same move everytime.

Dascoot there's no multi player dynasty. Please guys give Andrew a break and at least read part of his report. Most of your guys' questions can be answered by reading.

Andrew: Can U tell us about the soundtrack?? Did U remember some tittles?? And what kind of music is in live 07??

Sun Aug 20, 2006 4:55 am

wow congrats Andrew, on your great report, still I have one question...

About the dynasty mode, at the ESPN romour central, can it show that a CPU controlled team is going to offer a trade for a user controlled team?

Are there 3D crowds or the same "paper bag people" ? :P

Hey andrew, can i shoot a jumpshot using the analog stick instead of the usual circle button?

You mentioned that you experimented by trading Dwayne Wade to Chicago for Chris Duhon and a 1st round draft pick. How did this affect your team chemistry? Beyond what the "bars" may have said about player feelings, did you see or feel a difference with the team on-court?

I can't talk about it either. Everyone at the conference is bound by the same terms.

b1baller wrote:You said that now you can RELIVE the 2006 NBA Draft right.... SO, lets say that I created a player and he is in the free agent pool when I start a dynasty mode, can I draft that created player???

Also, can you save a replay?

Can you choose a dunk package in Next gen for a player, just like current gen?

How are the FS dunks in Next Gen? Are they different then current gen dunks or the same?

1. I believe so.
2. No
3. I'm pretty sure you can.
4. They're different. They have better gathering physics and information before dunks and layups.

cluber77 wrote:Andrew, i remember that in live 03 or 04 we see a cut scene animation when we trade or sign plaers to team. in the animation the player comes to the locker room and one of the major player welcome him.
can you tell us if ea make some new nimation like this or a deferent one?

when the draft is starting is a fast one or like i saying above we can see a cut scene like in the past?

tanx

No, there's no Dynasty Mode cutscenes.

wade4325 wrote:Andrew, Does anything interesting happen after press conferences

If you mean the press events in the game, you don't see them. They are just scheduled and affect team chemistry and player happiness (since some players don't like a lot of press events).

If you're talking about the Community Day, we all got treated to dinner on both nights of the event.

Raptorel wrote:Thanks for the feedback Andrew. I have one more question. In NBA Live 06 you could tip-in (and miss) and tip-in and tip-in etc on one possesion so you could had about 10 offensive rebounds with one guy on one possesion if you wanted. When you would hit the tip-in button your guy (almost) always jumped higher than the defensive rebounder. So I was some games able to have like 40 off rebounds (just to test how many I can get) on a 8 minute quarter game.

How about NBA Live 07? Is this annoying thing still present? They should have tone the tip-in off rebound down or at least make the second, third, 4th ... etc jump for the rebound lower and lower, so that's not possible to do this again and the defensive rebounder to actually ... rebound.

So how is this in NBA Live 07? The same 50+ rebs per game for one player if you want?

I didn't notice it happening but it could probably happen from time to time. You don't see every possible scenario - good or bad - played out in a couple of hours.

I didn't take note of the difference after making that trade so I can't give you specific results, sorry. But if you trade for a player who isn't anticipated to have good chemistry with your roster chances are you will see the overall chemistry decrease.

OK, I think I've got what you're asking now. You'd have to stop holding down/back on the right analog while you switch, otherwise you'd likely execute a FSS move.

8-Hype wrote:Just a quick question: Will we be able to use cyberfaces and headshapes from Live 06 for Live 07?

I have no idea, as I've mentioned a couple of times there wasn't a PC version on display. My guess is that with the different headshape files we probably won't be able to use them. Perhaps the .fsh files can be converted.

mvv wrote:kidding aside, seeing as melo and wade had their moves mo-capped, (1) did lebron james also has his sig jumpshot? or his power dunks? (2) also, since there is a concept of weight in the game, i would assume he could overpower his opponents on the drive? Of course, not to the point of abusing it.

(3) also, did manu have his sig moves, or his flopping moves? i think you said earlier that most of the superstars in the game will have their sig shots (so that means not all).

from a gameplay standpoint, (4) will real play calling be implemented, as in for example teams will use a significant amount of their shotclock setting up plays? also, and i think this is more important, (5) will play calling be a necessity to win? because as you may know, in last year's game (or in other previous versions of live), you can win without calling a single play.

1. In Next Gen, definitely. I'm pretty sure they were in Current Gen as well, Current Gen has fewer signature forms mostly for star players and players with really distinctive styles.
2. Yes, which is where the on-ball scenarios come into play.
3. No, there aren't any moves like that. Just free throw rituals and shooting forms.
4. Players are more intelligent about that, they'll see what you're doing and react to it without you having to call the play.
5. Not necessary but it's beneficial. On harder difficulty levels it's the smart way to go.

tylerdurden wrote:My biggest question is concerning PC requirements. I currently have a Pentium M 2GIG CPU, 1 GIG of RAM & ATI Mobility RADEON X300 laptop that runs 2006 fine on medium detail settings

We don't know the requirements yet but if you were able to run NBA Live 06 on medium details you'll probably be able to run NBA Live 07 since the PC version is Current Gen.

dascoot wrote:IS There Multi Player Dynasty Mode? why i ask this I would love to challenge my friend in GM skills in this game.

I did actually answer that but it's a quick answer so no worries: no, unfortunately not.

POLISH_BOY wrote:Andrew: Can U tell us about the soundtrack?? Did U remember some tittles?? And what kind of music is in live 07??

I didn't pay much attention to that, sorry. I did notice it's mostly rap and hip hop as usual though.

Pursuer wrote:About the dynasty mode, at the ESPN romour central, can it show that a CPU controlled team is going to offer a trade for a user controlled team?

No, it doesn't show any user-initiated deals as rumours.

maddog wrote:Are there 3D crowds or the same "paper bag people"?

When it comes to the crowds Next Gen looks fantastic in my opinion but Current Gen is about the same as last year.

chibo wrote:Hey andrew, can i shoot a jumpshot using the analog stick instead of the usual circle button?

Only if it's a player with Shooter FSS moves.

You'll have to be a bit more patient than that. As you can see, I haven't been online to answer anyone's questions until now and I've answered every question that's been posted so far. I've answered your question above.

Sun Aug 20, 2006 2:16 pm

I like how Andrew said absolutely NOTHING bad about this game... I mean, c'mon, I know it's good, but there has to be SOMETHING that can be improved or that's bad.

Don't be biased...

Sun Aug 20, 2006 2:25 pm

I don't appreciate that comment at all. You're free to take my opinions as you wish but I'm giving my honest impressions of the game. I put a lot of work in that report and tried to bring back as much information as possible so I do not care for snide little comments like that one. I suggest you drop the attitude immediately.

Sun Aug 20, 2006 2:29 pm

Damn, I made a comment, cool it.

But really. The impression I got from your "review" is that this game is perfect. If it's not, I'll be sorely disappointed.

Sun Aug 20, 2006 2:35 pm

Do not tell me to "cool it".

Ray AP19 wrote:But really. The impression I got from your "review" is that this game is perfect. If it's not, I'll be sorely disappointed.

Care to elaborate what you're implying by placing "review" in quotations?

I did not say the game was perfect. I am however very impressed with the game and the improvements that have been made. I can't guarantee everyone will feel the same way or that it will meet everyone's expectations and I never said it would. I did say I think a lot of people will be pleased and if they rent the game they might find themselves wanting the full version. But I can't speak for everyone. Those are just my opinions and I guess you're free to interpret them however you wish.

But I do not care for disrespectful posts like the one you just made. Again, lose the attitude.

Sun Aug 20, 2006 2:37 pm

Jeez, you're big and bad, aren't you, telling everyone what to do? Well, I happen not to appreciate that.

And "review" is in quotation marks because, quite frankly, it looked more like an advertisement.

Are you trying to tell me right now that there is NOTHING you saw that was NOT GOOD about this game? Nothing at all? That seems highly, highly unlikely. Did EA pay you not to say anything bad?

Sun Aug 20, 2006 2:49 pm

That's it. I'm not tolerating disrespectful comments like that anymore.

Sun Aug 20, 2006 3:08 pm

An advertisement? Yeah, because Andrew makes a lot of money out of it.

Heard of an opinion, Ray?

Sun Aug 20, 2006 3:30 pm

Andrew wrote:That's it. I'm not tolerating disrespectful comments like that anymore.

Ignore him Andrew. Everyone appreciates your work. I'm also a bit skeptical about the game, but it has nothing to do with your report, it has to do with me not being satisfied with the last two years of the game. Your report did show me the features of the game and the improvements and new features that were added. Your report is getting me excited about the game. Good work Andrew. I also believe that you tried to answer everyone's questions as honestly as you could. Kudos to you!

Sun Aug 20, 2006 3:39 pm

Appreciate the support. :) Anyway, keep the questions coming if you've got them. (Y)

Sun Aug 20, 2006 3:51 pm

andrew..does the speed of the game (next-gen) feels slow? cuz live 06 was so slow even if the speed was on the highest setting..

Sun Aug 20, 2006 4:09 pm

It didn't feel sluggish to me. It didn't seem like the players were moving in slow motion or anything like that.

Sun Aug 20, 2006 4:15 pm

thanks..last one..so if there's one thing you want to be improved from what you've played, what would it be?

Sun Aug 20, 2006 4:22 pm

As it stands I don't know if I'd want anything adjusted in regards to the gameplay, of course I'm hoping I'll still feel the same way about it when I get my hands on the finished game. That's not to say I didn't play it enough to get a feel from it but if there's nagging issues you don't tend to notice them until later. But I liked the feel of the game without any slider adjustments. We will probably need to make a few but we'll see.

I'd really like to see the stats engine fixed up because some players still don't average enough points or average too many or too few assists/rebounds in Dynasty Mode. And of course I'd love to see Dynasty get even more depth as far as hiring and firing coaches and a non-linear (but still calendar based) offseason. Those are the things that could still stand to be improved. I reckon I'll have fun with them this year all the same but now that the gameplay would seem to be improved a really deep Dynasty Mode would be the logical next step.

Sun Aug 20, 2006 5:43 pm

Hey Andrew, I got some more questions for you. (Current-gen Questions)

1. When the Game Intensity Meter flashes, what does it mean?

2. Do you have to be online to activate the ESPN radio and ESPN ticker?

3. In the Pause Game Interface, what does the Freestyle Superstars, X-Factor, and ESPN Stats Central look like?

Thank you for your time again.

Sun Aug 20, 2006 6:44 pm

1. The intensity is high. It also goes from blue to red.

2. Yep, it's all online content. I assume it will prompt you to make a connection if one isn't available.

3. Check out the Media section under Community Day Screenshots, I managed to get shots of all three. ;) Apologies for the quality, they're taken on a digital camera (3.2 megapixels, so not terrible but not top of the line) so they're not quite as good as screen captures.

Sun Aug 20, 2006 7:24 pm

Hey andrew, can i shoot a jumpshot using the analog stick instead of the usual circle button?

Only if it's a player with Shooter FSS moves.

Dang! They didn't do it like in 2k were all players you can use the analog stick to shoot. I'm a bit disappointed coz i'm tired of pressing. Thanks anyways.

Sun Aug 20, 2006 8:58 pm

andrew do you think that without any slider changes or with minor changes and 12minuts per quarts with the game we can get scores like 82-78 you know what ı mean ı hope ı'm clear thankss..
