Holy crap, I think this is the year when Live takes back the crown. I really like that they are getting a lot of signature jumpshots in the game. Also 73 different ratings!?!? Can't wait for Sept 26.

Great update!

I'm loving the new game but one thing, not to gripe, but what about the facial emotion? Last year they looked so emotionless, especially in the cut screens. I hope body and facial animations are worked on next if they aren't already included. Anyway, guys have done a great job so hats off to them for what they have accomplished, looks great!

Players in the Xbox 360 version will show emotion. The skin textures have also been redone and look very realistic. Sweat is also well done this year.

73 ratings is absurd. That's gonna be cool. You'd have to include a "potential" rating in there somewhere, if there's that many.

Hell, if there's that many, you've probably got ratings for songwriting ability and cooking ability.

In all seriousness though, with player chemistry being such a big part of dynasty mode, there probably are some ratings related to player personality.

73 ratings? Creating a player might take forever.

73 ratings is fantastic!

I would be very surprised if that was in the PC version as well though. Here's hoping.

It's hard to ever really believe people in interviews since they are trying to hype up thier own games, but the Live team -- criticizms aside -- have really made serious efforts to improve this series for the past 3 or so years now so what can I say. Like a fool I'm getting hopeful again.

Their stellar commentary is also augmented by a number of new speech events, namely new comeback and post-whistle commentary plus a brand new half-time analysis segment. We added over 12,000 new lines for the 5 on 5 game from last year and our new 4th quarter speech will bring the last quarter to life like never before.

Does this mean that we are going to have an half time show???
and 12,000 new lines(i do hope its lines and not words) i would never get bored of the commentary...
and a new 4th quarter speech......it looks like ea really went to work on the commentary..big plus for me

that was what was cool about 2k, they'd show clips of the best player at the half. But in all reality that's really not too important of a feature. After a while I'd start skipping it.

I like NBA Shootout.... eh 96? maybe it was? They would have video of cheerleaders in the background at halftime, and if you pressed and held the four L and R buttons you could remove the stats and just see the cheerleader videos. lol

Whoa, from 25 to 73 ratings. I must admit, that opened up my eyes a little bit. I never really get excited for Live anymore but that did really make me say "Whoa" and the screen shots look great. Can't wait to see what Andrew has to say.

Whoa, whoa . I suddenly became very hyped about this game, it seems like we're finally getting a deeper, more realistic game. Andrew, does that (more ratings) count also for the PC version?

why would they with hold that? :S unless they deem the pc has memory contraints which the next gen systems can handle.

Well, this is nice... Sounds better each day, this game...

More ratings is what we were hoping for since most of us veteran players did know and notice that there isn't that much difference in between players. Like the point guard would always score a lot, no matter if it was Jason Kidd or Jason Terry... And so on... The ball didn't get to Shaq but only a couple of times in a game since the rest of the guys was just too hasty with the shooting. 73 ratings... I guess they all have a purpose. This change will apply to all the games, why wouldn't it?

Making a roster patch with each player having 73 ratings is gonna be tough. I really hope that we will get some official updates after the season starts, so that Andrew and the rest don't have to do everything by himself. Only modify an already existing roster that is at least in the same ball park as the real life situation.

The graphics look nice on the 360... The guys look like guys from a wax cabinet, especially the faces, but I bet that will look real sweet in motion. Some of the arms/legs/torso look extremely fantastic and difference between real pic and gameplay pic could be hard to tell...

I like how this game feels... But still waiting on to hear the official NLSC word from Andrew on the game...

I think Next Gen's a bit deeper but Current Gen obviously has a lot more attributes to accommodate the new features such as chemistry.

when they say they've added lines about Kobe changing his number or Dirk singing Hasselhoff, I hope it doesn't repeat....especially the Kobe one....imagine you're Sit & you're doing a Lakers' dynasty....it's alright in 1st half of season to hear about Kobe's number change a couple of times....but do you really want to hear about in 10 season's time when Kobe is gonna retire? if you are, then those lines should never be added to the game....

there are a few features that interest me....I just hope that momentum system is decent & promotes simulation basketball....let's hope next gen game destroys current gen game....I'll wait and see....
