Whats up JaoSming11, your off to a good start on the Rucker. I'm familiar with the court because i go there every summer for the tournaments. So just some insight on a few things.

1) The text on the backboard is not necessary its not actually there.

2) The court needs to be a lighter green, its too saturated currently. At center court they should be the EBC logo or the NYC Parks Logo ( a leaf symbol) U should go with the EBC logo.

3) There must be bleachers of people around the court (must be packed u should see this place its ridiculous how crowded it is) Also (if possible) at the bottom of the bleachers around the court is a small baracade that keeps the crowd of the court (similar to the baracades at an outdoor concert near the stage).

4) There Should be trees around the perimeter of the court to form an enclosure around the area.(People watch the games while sitting in the trees as well).

5) This is very important it adds atmosphere to the court...Advertisemnt Banners on the baracades and on surfaces around the court on the fences. Ex. SLAM magazine banners, Mountain Dew banners, NBA TV banners, Sprite Banners, Reebok banners, Nike Banners, u see alot of these it really adds to the experience.

6) Definately buildings in the background Stores (Bodegas, Project buildings).

7) There is an elevated enclosed subway to the south (I believe) :?: Going towards the street at this end of the fence there is always a large banner of some sort on the fence that makes it seem like a solid wall (but its not) to make it seem like its closed in....and then in the background is the elevated enclosed subway.

**OK thats my 25 cents worth (Y) Right Now your moving in the right direction but i feel so far its to "open" so work on enclosing it and remember there are no actual walls, and this is the city (Harlem) to be exact its crowded with enclosed partioned areas ok hope this helps....Keep up the good work (Y)

beta sent

1) The text on the backboard is not necessary its not actually there.

yup i know that, I put it there cause it was in NBA Street v3. If there is an outburst of disgust, ill remove it.

2) The court needs to be a lighter green, its too saturated currently. At center court they should be the EBC logo or the NYC Parks Logo ( a leaf symbol) U should go with the EBC logo.
OK, i believe M@rcus' Rucker had that logo, so I can just use that.

3) There must be bleachers of people around the court (must be packed u should see this place its ridiculous how crowded it is) Also (if possible) at the bottom of the bleachers around the court is a small baracade that keeps the crowd of the court (similar to the baracades at an outdoor concert near the stage).
Yup, Haven't got that far yet, but Ill keep it in mind.

Now with this one we are going to have a little problem...its going to be near impossible to get a huge crowd in there without the floating spectators (like the Hall of Fame court) I was thinking of just doing this without a crowd (or if I do, a small one like in the previews) until i finish it. I was going to wait on the baracades until I finish this version.

4) There Should be trees around the perimeter of the court to form an enclosure around the area.(People watch the games while sitting in the trees as well).
Yup Ill try and do my best the limited trees I have to work with.

Again maybe after I get the base version done

6) Definately buildings in the background Stores (Bodegas, Project buildings).
yup, will be done

7) There is an elevated enclosed subway to the south (I believe) :?: Going towards the street at this end of the fence there is always a large banner of some sort on the fence that makes it seem like a solid wall (but its not) to make it seem like its closed in....and then in the background is the elevated enclosed subway.
yup my reference court has those things.

I kinda doubt much more will be done today (birthday) but when more gets done, youll all know about it. oh and thanks for the suggestions.

ok jao now you probably alreayd know about this, but i just want to mention that the boundary lines are a little bit inside the actual boundary place. in 1 on 1 mode with the beta the line to the side was the clearing spot. but like i said you probably already knew about this. just wanted to point it out though :P

btw: I love it

Thu Aug 10, 2006 6:40 am

haha glad you like it, and thanks everyone for the happy birthdays

I did the side boundries on purpose because Rucker is a smaller court than a normal NBA court. I mean it is still playable in 5v5mode, but I understand why some people may not like it.

Happy B-Day by the way JS11 (Y)

yea cause during game-play it would be harder to tell where the boundary line really is. but i mean i dont think people would notice the difference if you put them to the regular nba courts.

I think the green on the the court needs to be darker and less bright.
I think you should start with the hardest things next. Then when you do the easy things they will be easy to move around.

"I think the green on the the court needs to be darker and less bright. "
Ill see how the less saturated and lighter comes out first.

Also I think im going to first fix the fence, then do that elevated structure, then finish the road, buildings, playground, and so on

For future reference for anyone who looks in this thread;

transparent textures are controlled by the xxxxstd_trans.ebo

as for updates, well there are none, been kinda busy

Tue Aug 15, 2006 12:15 pm

Try to put one of the Homies from the Dunk Contest/1on1 in the tree, for added realism. (Y)

Guys I think Im all NBA Lived out for the year, this isnt an official retirement, and I will be back for 07; but there is just too much going on for me right now to even think about doing rucker/city slam/everything else. (a special someone is going to replace me.....maybe :P)

I may release another court or two, but I dont know what they'll be or when ill do it.

Take it easy

First up is a Mesh Pattern (made with the Gimp, i dont know if it works with Photoshop or not)
