DbfEditors

Not sure if I'm in the right section, but I was just wondering what is the best dbf editor you guys have used. I have been using dbcommander but now the trial has run out and I have lost alot of the options especially to be able do do mass transfers and exporting to ascii files.

dbf commander is the best overall for me ...but like you said ...when the trail runs out you don't have much options!...
CDBF isn't bad either ...but it's shareware and the application closes from alone after 5mins or so ...

open db commander and click ok and you'll use it forever. open a dbf file and just edit.

I used Microsoft Excel for a long time, but my laptop recently died on me. Now I use the spreadsheet program that comes with OpenSuite. (free alternative to Microsoft Office)

It works great, you just gotta make sure it saves as a dbf and not an excel format.

I prefer DB Commander since historically MS Excel has been troublesome since it's very easy to corrupt the dbf files.

yup. ms excel can be dangerous. it once corrupted one of the dbf files i opened.
