New revolution in SOUND patching!

Wed Jul 09, 2003 4:05 am

The main page of NLSC shocked me tonight...

Finally, finally, finally...

We can now edit arena speech, commentating, 1 on 1 sounds and more with this new program that came out!

EA Play-By-Play Viewer 2003

The description wrote:This utility allows you to access and edit the play-by-play sound files in Electronic Arts games. It was written primarily for the NHL series, but also offers limited support for NBA Live 2003 files.

I thought this was too good to be true...but finally we add our own sounds to NBA Live! :D

"And now, the Aussie sensation, introoooooooducing...

BAAAAAAARNSEEEEEEEEEEY!!!"

hehehe. this is gonna be fun. :)

p.s. Cocobee, you still around buddy? :D

Artem's stuff is fully functional for the NHL series (the NHL series his main forte)...but you can't edit/import speech into NBA Live with his program...you can only play/listen to it...

Are you sure it can't work? Have you given it a try yet....I downloaded it as well but haven't used it yet....there has to be a way to change the audio files...maybe this program is the beginning of that....I wanted to put some Bill Walton commentary in the game...someone should try to develop this Qweet or someone...or figure out how to manipulate this program to do it......I want Walton phrases in the game I think it would be much more fun and amusing (Y)....Lets not give up hope yet guys

Can the author or someone explain this thing?

I will put all the rookies in the arena voice if it can be done with this thing or any other thing.

I have a voice for LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony and T.J. Ford ready to go in. Well they are wave files for now, I edited James Worthy to say "James or Jaaaaames" and Alton Ford to say "Ford" and Greg Anthony to say "Anthony or Anthoneeeee" I know with my wave editor I can figure out the full names of each of the missing players, but I need a way into the index file.

How did you edit the wav file? Any specific program paul_pierce_the_truth?

I used the Nero Wave Editor.

I would really like to work this out.

Update:

I know how everything works, sort of anyway.

I got the file in place and made 3 little voice things for Carmelo Anthony.

Named it caanthoa and gave him is correct id number.
The preview plays the "Anthoneeeeeeee" just fine, but in the game the announcer no longer says "Number 15" or anything else.

He is completely silent.

Also (this may not be related to each other.) I tried a smush parker one, named it wrong "parker" not "smparkea" like it should have been, then my game crashes only when I try to go "@Cleveland". I replaced the Audio folder from the disc overwriting the patch, yet the game crashes at Cleveland, yet I can play Cleveland on the road. Before messing with this gadget I played at Cleveland with all the patches by Hogan and Tony.

I dunno if it's all tied together or what. But I can not play at Cleveland.

PS: Does the guy who authored this thing respond often to questions in his own forum?

Edit: I was to stupid to be able to join.

It said my email address and username were already registered.

NON-SENSE!
