how to defend players jumping to score with ball?

Sun Nov 24, 2002 8:14 pm

i can not find a way to defend players that are making a final shot - alley oop, finger roll, etc. is there eany possibility to steal the ball even in thias final stage of the opponents attack? which move and how to use? sometimes when player throws the ball from a distance i succeed with a block but no success when player is jumping trying to put the ball in with some sort of a jump. anyone helps? thanks.

Best ways i have found is to try and strip the ball while the player is going up or get in good position to take a charge( make sure your outside the circle below the rim).

Yeah...I've given trying to block those types of shots.

What I do now is simply position myself in front of the player and take the charge.

Blocking lay-ups and dunks is possible in LIVE 2003. Just like in real life basketball, its all about TIMING. Its not eay but dfinitely it is possible. Just familiarize yourself with the various layups and dunks then time your jump when you challenge a shot and soon enough you'll be blocking those shots right through the stands
