damn you phoenix........ and damn you diaw for not performing in the ATL.

but good work on the mo cap

Fri Jun 23, 2006 2:41 pm

That was neat, I hope they do MoCap for other unique players like Shaq and Tim Duncan and Shawn Marion.

Fri Jun 23, 2006 6:09 pm

i hope they do mo cap for steve francis
they neva get his game right
and dwayne wade, they neva had dwayne wade game right either, not even last year, when they did mo cap on him

didnt 2004 have mo-cap from Stevie? The grab the rim and tap the backboard dunk was a mo-cap of him i thought

Mr. Diaw joins the likes of Dwayne Wade, Kevin Garnett, and Antoine Walker (to name a few) as NBA pros that’ll go through the motion capture process for NBA Live 07.

are we finally going to get the 'toine shake this year?? haha

Fri Jun 23, 2006 8:35 pm

Antoine Walker did mo-cap in NBA Live 99. As with the Gasol article earlier this year, I'm pretty sure they're referring to players who have done mo-cap in the past, not a listing from this year.

I'm pretty sure it was 2002 that Francis did mo-cap, the same year he was on the cover. Corey Maggette did 2004 if I remember rightly.

It's weird that they shoose a guy like Diaw, but it makes sense. he's athletic, but not too athletic so they can use a lor of his moves. They should just go to playgrounds and watch the style of shooting and dunking and lay-ups of some guys and pick them. I'm sure they used local pro league players in other lives for some mo caps too. I think this year will be the chance for EA to really bring UNIQUE moves to players. But i think they probably will bring that in next year or later to boost sales, since they improved some gameplay and footplanting this year.

Gasol was also in the studio about a month back.

i think they should stick to the nba for player motion caps because arent they trying to define it more? make more players have their own shooting styles and stuff.

Sat Jun 24, 2006 4:01 am

they should pick 5 players for each position to do mo cap.

wade
ray allen
shawn marion
tim duncan
shaq

i dont want the pointguards and centers looking the same.

Sat Jun 24, 2006 5:18 am

Very true. They could get like 3 players at every position to show the moves that different types of players can do. They should also get players to do there free throw routine.

Sat Jun 24, 2006 6:48 am

they should do mocap for superstars with a unique game, so they can stand out more, it'll be better then that freestyle superstars

Sat Jun 24, 2006 8:38 am

Really nice find ! very interesting ... the clothes are funny  , also i think EA gonna sing more players for the mocap because Gasol and Diaw have pretty similar moves .

I want Mason for the highflyers !! mason to the mocap !! plz EA !!

The 'Toine Shake was in Live 99. Absolutely amazing.

Good stuff for Boris. His mocap should work well as he's pretty athletic and versatile.

Sun Jun 25, 2006 11:40 pm

Hell yeah. I don't wanna see the ugly 'LeBron dunk' again, take a look at the legs, how unrealistic! Also, more mo caps to generate more dunkpacks, can't stand LeBron doing a 360 (which he never does).

PS. Where are the 'signiture moves' mentioned every year?

Mon Jun 26, 2006 10:20 am

FSS is the closest we've come so far. Of course, the FSS concept does open up the possibility for signature moves more than it did before.

Tue Jun 27, 2006 2:32 am

I think EA has used a bunch of guys out of NBA to do most of the mo-capping. You know, the running, rebounding, defensive stand etc. The cover boy is just for show and does do some motion capturing, but they have used multiple guys in almost all the Live games...

It's not like D-Wade, T-Mac, Duncan and others can spend 3 weeks in that sweat suit doing motion capturing.

But it's nice to know that they are using more NBA players for the job than before...

Wed Jun 28, 2006 9:13 pm

I hope they've got T-Mac and King James so that powerful highflyer dunks are available. I think it'll good if they can sort the highflyers into 2 groups, dreamy and powerful, just like Jordan and Wilkins, but I think they won't do that... :(

Wed Jul 05, 2006 7:55 am

i say they pick Kobe for offensive Mo Cap, Ben Wallace for Defensive Mo Cap, and Steve Nash for Passing and Playmaking Mo-Cap

Thu Jul 06, 2006 9:12 am

it'll be cool if every player had their real shooting style... and the way they really play instead of having the freestyle mode.
