rate my wolves lineup

Mon Jun 12, 2006 6:26 pm

Rate my 2005/6 dynasty Timberwolves
C- Boris Diaw
PF- Kevin Garnett
SF- Josh Howard
SG- Marco Jaric
PG- Marcus Banks

Bench:
Luther Head
Sean May
Trenton Hassell
Eddie House
Andrew Deqclerq

PLZ give me some advice:
i want to get james or wade instead of garnett or better pg instead of banks even that he is a o.stopper.

On an scale of 1-10 i would say about 7, u need to get another player like wade, mcgrady, kobe, someone who can do alot outside and who can team up with Garnett as a dynamic duo. Garnett can play downlow with great power.

I think his lineup is absolutely fine. Josh Howard can develop into that second go-to guy and Boris Diaw at centre is always a pretty interesting choice since he creates so many mismatches.

I'd say the person that you should get rid of is Jaric, since Banks has potential and can really become good if you give him a year or two.

Ill stick with my suggestion :|

No one is telling you to change your suggestion; I'm just offering mine.

I think you could use a more legit centre as a backup though. Sean May's a bit undersized and Andrew Deqclerq is the king of scrubs.

Im not changing anything i think mine is good 8-)

On a side note do u need a sig? I noticed what u wrote where your signature goes.

Start Trenton Hassel and you have the best defensive Lineup in the NBA, of course you probably wont score much and I doubt KG could shoulder all of the load. But Id get rid of Diaw just because his game is too similar to KG's and hes not exactly an inside presence.

whats wrong with developing marcus banks to do that instead of being 7000 million over the salary cap

what kind of a legit center? can you give me any examples

Desagana Diop is a good legit backup center.
He is big, can grab board and block shots.

Offense is pretty limited of course.

Thu Jun 15, 2006 12:26 am

Yea Diop is alright on defense (as a backup) but the offense might not be there all the time. (Y)

Thu Jun 15, 2006 1:05 am

im not sure about Diop (N) , because he has a big salary (2mil) for a player like him and there must a better backup center that i can get to my team

That is exactly what hova said but rewarded :? .

Varejao is God, get him.

Thu Jun 15, 2006 3:59 am

I have Varejao on my team and he dosent do shit thats why i put him on the reserve

Thu Jun 15, 2006 5:24 am

Give up Diaw and any other player Denver might want and snatch Marcus Camby from them. Him, Josh Howard and KG would give you the best defensive frontline in the history of the NBA.

Thu Jun 15, 2006 6:19 am

i'd put Head in SG and Jaric in PG

Thu Jun 15, 2006 7:33 am

that lineup is fine. if you add a sg like mcgrady or bryant, might as well get nash, duncan, and yao ming and call your team the western all stars. you already have a solid lineup and getting bryant or mcgrady would only make you team unrealistic and boring. sean may's fine, i'd replace jaric though.

varejao is awesome if u know how to use him at PF. He can score 20 points for me per game. You dont need a good SG cause you can use ur forwards and C in the post

Melvin Ely, Tony Battie, Loren Woods, Steven Hunter, anybody like that. They don't have to be amazing or have a minimum contract, Diop in my opinion is worth investing in even if he's only worth 2 million. He has some potential and it has been a trend to overpay big men nowadays so 2 million is actually a bargain for a player of his caliber.

Im not changing anything i think mine is good

I wasn't implying that you needed to change anything, I was just saying that my opinion was different from yours.

No, I'm perfectly fine without a signature. What is currently my "signature" right now isn't supposed to be taken too seriously.

Its a worthy investment in my opinion, 2 million isnt much, and shot blocking along with rebounding is real key in this game if you want to play ANY defense (assuming you have similar settings like mine and having to keep using bigmen to back up players that have broke through my perimeter defense). His offense, though limited, he can use his great rebounding and do put back layups or dunks after grabbing a rebound. Another intriguing player to look at is joel pryzbilla (spelling?). in my dynasty, he goes slightly cheaper than Diop, around 1.5 to 1.75 million (not sure for yours) and does about the same thing, but i think not as strong strength wise if thats anything for concern.
