This is because EA was lazy in setting CPU default plays for each team, but PLAYMAKERS PLAYBOOK SELECTIONS gives the ultimate realistic gameplay in terms of how much the offense is run through the stars in each team...if ur lazy to set up the plays then u will continue getting owned by PG's because the offense is set to SHOOTER A and most often PG's carry the ball the most so they get to shoot the most...adjust ur playbook setting manually b4 every game and this wont be a problem no moreThis is an almost major issue I've had with NBA Live for the last few years.....it seems like no matter how good my PG is, how average the opposing team's PG is, and no matter how many better players there are on the opposing team, the PG is ALWAYS shooting and scoring the most. This makes games very unrealistic, and gets on my nerves, especially when I play a game and hope for a "Magic vs. Bird" "Shaq vs. Russell" or "Kobe vs Jordan" type of scenario. Whenever I play the Bulls in my all-time rosters season, Pippen and Jordan get 10-12, even though I made their primacy 99...and Kirk Heinrich or Norm van lier get 30. Same when I play Boston, Cousy gets 35 and Bird gets like 16. I will even double team the PG and high pressure them, but the computer always goes to them.
Does this happen with anybody else? I know it has to, but maybe no one else cares.

Most annoying point guards for me:
Allen Iverson
Jason Terry
Deron Williams
Sebastian Telfair
Tyronne Lue
Chauncey Billups

Good point Uptempo, if u choose not to use playmaker's playbook then just forget about it.... i have played through an 82 game season and never once did any fluke PG drop more than 20pts on me..it gets annoying having to manually change playbooks for u and the CPU but thats the only way to get ultimate realism, otherwise even bum PG's can drop 40pts on ur headThat's all I was trying to say earlier about Playmakers playbooks.
It gets the ball out of the hands of PG's and into the hands of some of the top players on every team. The only way a PG get's out of control using the playbooks when I play is because I blew my assignment defensively and idn't stop his initial penatration. Otherwise they will look to run the run the offense and get the ball to players that the play is designed for more often.
I always setup the playbooks for the CPU because it's the best way to play the game for added realism. Otherwise they will run the basic quick plays and the PG's will shoot more than anyone else.

I'm just offering advice as to how to slow most of them down. If it's too much work to program them too pass the ball more or shoot less than I guess it's not worth it. They aren't going to magically stop shooting if people are having these types of problems.
Enjoy the game how ever way you feel fit.

EA:YOU SUCK !!!!this is because the offense by default is set to SHOOTER A for all CPU teams. Why cant ppl understand that so long as that offense is implemented to SHOOTER A, the PG gets to take all the shots on the team????

LOL....well personally, if it's this easy to change, and it makes THAT MUCH of a difference, then EA must have ignored it or missed it during their testing phase. They must have tested the game using Steve Nash or other PGs who actually do ball.
I downloaded the Playmakers file from the other thread, and I noticed that the PG's weren't as dominate...well Terry Porter did ball, but Walt Frazier in the next game didn't do as much as usual. (I am doin a throwback season).
So with these new files...for each team, is it set to make the ball go to anybody in particular, or does it just go to who's best or who's primacy is the highest? I am expecting the finals to be between the Lakers and Celtics, and I want to see Larry Bird ballin so that Magic can be motivated to murder him and get MVP.

u right,it leaves the SG open from the 3 point line(thats the default play) but EA did a great job of letting the CPU PG read the defence and react accordingly...as the SG is cutting to the outside perimeter, the PG has the option of either taking the shot or driving depending on how u play him defensively.....for anyone having problems with bum PG's dropping 30 on them its because they are just too close to him and often times trying to go for the steal and this where the CPU PG just blows past them for the easy bucket(ill explain some more)...Mofo wrote:flipz wrote:Scorer--20 wrote:Steve Blake make 25 points in a game

you have a point there...weird though, when i use Shooter A as a set play, my sg is usually open instead of my pg. By the way, i also got owned by Brevin Knight today, 35 points to go along with 5 rebounds and 12 assists...

I find that if you go for the steal (at all) you will get scored on, but if you just try to keep your defender in front of the PG, they wont score as much... Play good defence and stop whining basically
