What does cpu assistance do?

sometimes when you pass the ball the computer will control the player you pass to even without player lock on.

oh. ok. Thx
Do you use it?

If you're talking about the CPU Assist option, switching it on makes jumpshots much easier. With CPU Assist on, the likelihood of making a shot depends on the player's ratings. When it's turned off, it depends mostly on when you release the shoot button (though ratings still come into play).

That's shot control Andrew, it's set to either cpu (easier) or user (harder.)

I can't believe I made that error after all the times I've explained shot control.

I'm really off my game today.
CPU Assist is a means of giving the losing team an advantage down the stretch. If you're blowing a team out and you have CPU Assist turned on, you'll notice your opponent will start to play much better. You'll also start to miss a few easy layups and dunks.

I know, but that's what CPU Assistance has always done. In NBA Live 2003 it's just done to an even greater extent.

I don't use cpu assistance
thats kinda cheesey in my opinion
user shot control is the way true ballers play

CPU Assistance isn't the same as Shot Control though (as I remembered after my mental block

).
