I've completed version 1.08 of the current roster update for NBA Live 2003, and you can download it here.
Please note that this is the first update for the offseason. Not all rookies have correct jersey numbers, the Dstats still require updating, and there's plenty of offseason left to go so there'll be more transactions to make in the near future. It is not recommended you start a new Franchise with these rosters just yet.
Some of the features of v1.08 include:
- Rosters updated through July 3rd, 2003
- 56 of the 58 draft picks added
- Quite a few players have updated ratings
- Retired players have been deleted
I've included a tweaked version of the roster as usual, but the "uninjured" version will remain the same as the regular version of the rosters throughout the offseason. I have not added Nedzad Sinanovic or Xue Yuyang as I am yet to find info on Sinanovic, and Yuyang is not expected to play in the NBA this year.
All first round picks have been placed on their respective teams. A few second round picks have also been added to their team's roster, but most of them remain in the free agent pool. I will shuffle this around as rookies and free agents sign with teams.
I have made the first pass in updating player ratings. I'll probably do this a few times during the offseason. I'll also be happy to fix up any player appearances as well as adding headbands and other accessories. I hope to update the Dstats by the next version, and I'll attempt to improve the overall team rankings.

I think there are some other things for LeBron...can't remember what though...I'll post my full LeBron ratings later...i think mine are perfect.
Melo...
I don't know much about Melo...all i know is that his jump should go down from 90 to about 79. nbadraft.net stated that one of his weaknesses is that he lacks a good leaper.
Great job overall. It takes time to make things like that, as i said before, so keep up the great work..i love using your rosters.
Oh, one more thing. please make jarvis hayes's skin colour one tone higher.
Though in the games i played my shooting % was off limits, it usually is but even against a better oponent i hit almost 80% and de cpu below 50%, i know this is a commen trend but lately i adjusted my game quite wel but i had a team with duncan, yao, sprewell in frontcourt and at the bench chandler and hilario, they practically couldnt miss, dunno if it has to do with the update but just guessing

Possesses very good motion on his long range jumper as he does an excellent job of keeping his body square and his shooting with his elbow tucked in
Shows remarkable shot selection as he doesn't force too many shots
Perimeter shooting from mid-range isn't as developed as his long-range shooting
His shooting off the dribble leaves a little to be desired from 18 feet out
His free throw shooting must improve. Right now, he's under 70%, but this should definitely improve with experience
Struggles on the free throw line
LeBron still tends to go for the spectacular at times when a solid play is all that's necessary. But it's probably nitpicking as he likes to put on a show, and usually only brings out tricks when the game is in hand. Which for him on the HS level is usually the entire game...
Excellent finisher when running the break where he can take opponents off the dribble and rise up for the quick dunk
Doesn't exploit his body size enough as his post-up game offensively remains unutilized
On top of all this he's a physical specimen.
He has developed his body to make it a great strength,
Owns a quick first step and solid ball handling ability to get past most defenders
Not a blindingly quick player so lateral quickness on defense should be worked on
His vision and passing skills are what sets him apart.
There are no more than 5 players in the NBA that have the vision and passing skills of LeBron.
But when you have a player with his type of passing skills, you want the offense to run through him every time down the floor, making point guard his natural position.
Shows unbelievable ability when it comes to passing the ball.
Owns a quick first step and solid ball handling ability to get past most defenders
His ball handling ability is very good at the high school level, however he still needs work on maintaining better ball protection and has a tendency to get careless
His vision and passing skills are what sets him apart.
There are no more than 5 players in the NBA that have the vision and passing skills of LeBron.
Simply has that uncanny court vision and knack for seeing plays develop before they occur
When penetrating to the basket, he shows tremendous body control as he can adjust his shot according to the defense
Solid rebounder who understands how to position himself well under the boards to gain easy rebounding opportunities
Defensive intensity must get better
Defensively he shows solid anticipation skills when playing the passing lanes
At this point in his career his defense isn't the best but he does have the physical tools to be an outstanding defender
Not a blindingly quick player so lateral quickness on defense should be worked on
Shows great poise and leadership on the court
NBA Comparison: Magic Johnson
Carmelo Anthony has a better jumpshot than LeBron, and a NCAA title under his belt. But LeBron has far superior upside.
Sometimes he can be a little too flashy at times as he gets caught up in the moment
Some have questioned if he has bought into all the hype about himself but to his credit it takes a certain level of brashness to handle it all
A player with his combination of size, and point guard skills is very rare. The only player to have this in the past was Magic Johnson.
The sky is truly the limit.
Has an "NBA body" at 18.
He has all the gifts to play PG, but he will likely have to start at the 2 and 3 positions before he can really run a team from the point guard position.
The game just comes so easily to him, he's the epitome of a hoops prodigy.
