PS3: NBA Live 07 and six degrees of freedom

Postby kaat2g on Wed May 10, 2006 11:37 pm

I was wondering how the new innovation of six degrees of freedom feature on the PS3's controller will be implemented, if possible, into NBA Live 07?

For me, the best scenario will be using it when shooting free throws. This will be done by tilting the controller to place the cursor on the correct spot and then press a button to shoot. Other than that i don't see how it'd be used in gameplay.

Let me know what you all think. Thank you.

I agree about using it for free throws. Tilting it back to line up ur shot...then forward to release or something. This can't be used in game though....it would make controls rather clunky.

You should be able to throw the controller at the TV for Free Throws

I don't know about you guys, but I often throw the controller at the TV for more than just FTs.

It could, like it is in NBA 2k6 where you pull back to jump into your jumpshot and release at the top of your jump to shoot. You can also do fadeaways, leaners, and runners with it.

I often throw my controller at the ground when Live 06 cheats on me.

Pretty Much, I've been told off by my parents for my frustrations, so I've stopped playing.

What? Are you crazy? Do you know how much I payed for that? And that? And that? I dont throw the controller at anything. I pay too damn much for everything in my place for me to just be fucking up everything like that. Plus I am too lazy to go buy a new one when its destroyed.

I dont think all games for ps3 will have that motion controlling thing; only some games that requires driving and maybe other stuff.

I hope you can turn it off. I'd rather not have to worry about what frickin' angle I have the controller at while I'm playing.

What is there to do when you're down by one at the end of a 12-minute game, so you drive baseline looking for a huge dunk, hit the button, and watch as your player hoists a horrifyingly ill-conceived one-handed runner off the wrong side of the backboard? Is there anything more infuriating?

I wonder if there's a motion you can do on the controller so you can rip a player's nut sack off?

Nice video. First time I've seen it.

EDIT: I agree. It would be good for free-throws, but it would make the game complicated if it was involved in actual gameplay.

Big deal I got a microsoft controller for christmas in '99 that you could turn on a sensor so you could lean the controller. Or turn it off to use the d-pad. It came with Motocross Madness.
