thx, I´d like Marbury and Crawford to put up these numbers, but usually they are not scoring that much since they are no FSS scorers ....

More questions than answers in 3rd consective loss for Knicks

Denver wins 92-86 in a defense-orientated match

NEW YORK, February 23 (Ticker) ---
The New York Knicks were again not able to win.
With big hope for a win the Knicks played confidently but simply not good enough.

In the first quarter it seemed like the strategy of the Knicks would go through.
They played a zone defense and created much difficulty for Denver.

"We knew that they are not the best shooting team, everybody knows that, that is why we went into the game with a zone defense", Eddy Curry said.

With a strong defense and an acceptable offensive execution the Knicks led 12-4.
But they didn´t plan with Nene. Nene Hilario, a 6-11 Center-Forward, came into the game and scored 3 in a row to give the Nuggets a nice boost.
Carmelo Anthony added 6 and Greg Buckner scored 4 points.
Stephon Marbury again had a great start with 5 assists in the first, but the Knicks were down by 2, 26-24.

In the second quarter the Denver Nuggets played very poorly.
They only shot .250 from the field and didn´t get anything done in the post.
New York didn´t play many better, but was able to connect on several jumpers, especially Quentin Richardson, who had 8 points.
In a very low scoring game the Knicks led at half time by 1, 42-43.

"We felt pretty good, but then we started to take wild shots and stuff, you can´t win if you play like that ...", was the comment by Stephon Marbury on the following quarter.

The Knickerbockers took shots from positions, where some players wouldn´t even look at the basket and couldn´t defend Melo Anthony.
Carmelo scored 10 points including one important three to give the Nuggets a 6 point lead.
Andre Miller dished out 4 assists, connecting with Kenyon Martin several times to give him easy layups.
The Knicks frontcourt played weak defense, wasn´t even able to foul Martin and Melo to send them to the line instead of giving them easy shots.
Denver led 66-59 after the 3rd.

Like always the Knicks came back, but way too late.
Keith Van Horn played his best game for the Knicks till now with 11 points, 7 of them in in the 4th including one three point play.
Stephon Marbury and Steve Francis combined for 12, some nice plays by both.
But the Nuggets played it safe, Carmelo, who shot 10-14 from the field scored 6 and Andre Miller added 6 and 2 assists.
Down by 6 with 0:30 left the Knicks fouled Kenyon Martin, who made both to give the Nuggets a 92-86 win.

Player Of The Game was Carmelo Anthony with 22 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists and one steal.
Kenyon Martin added 15 points, Andre Miller 12 and Nene, Greg Buckner and DerMarr Johnson 10 each.

For New York Stephon Marbury scored 18 points and handed out 9 assists, Quentin Richardson scored 16 and Ketih Van Horn 11 off the bench, Steve Francis 10.

Both teams shot very weak from three point land and couldn´t connect on several open jumpers.
New York had unacceptable 21 turnovers, Denver 9 steals.
The Play Of The Game was a co-production of Stephon Marbury and Steve Francis, the Dunk Of The Night also by Steve Francis. (Actually two dunks of the night)

The next game will be in 4 days vs Boston and after that vs Philly, two very important games !

Crawford aint that good, you know, this is a self-edited roster (at least in FSS issues) and I didnt think hes a FSS, so he is not that good ...

I hope I can get a good draft pick, to look for nice players, maybe a shooter (JJ Redick) or a scoring player ( morrison) .... or some other good draftees

Great dunks in highlights Thumbs Up

Ye Ima lil bit heading to the next season, thats why articels are getting less and Im more like playing the games, try my best, if I get playoffs done its very cool and I wont change too many things on my team, if not there will be a complete rebuilding.

TimHenman wrote:Very good recap, try to move something on the team!

Glad you like it, as I said lets make the best out of this season, since the deadline has passed and then try to rebuild (1st step was my Van Horn trade--> clearin cap space)

Time to break the losing streak, or try to get the better pick at the next year draft
Will you use the real draft prospects in the future draft? Nice

Wed May 10, 2006 3:01 pm

Yes, I hope at least the top 20 picks will have cyberfaces and portraits, I will edit the first 60 picks, hope they get drafted instead of generated rookies.

Thu May 11, 2006 8:11 am

Philadelphia 76ers (12-10) vs New York Knicks (6-11)

Sixers kill Knicks, 4th straight loss !
Philadelphia with an easy road win over the Knicks, 98-91.

ImageImageImage

NEW YORK, February 27 (Ticker) ---
The New York Knickerbockers lost for the 4th consecutive time, defeated by the Philadelphia 76ers.

"It´s hard to loose that many games in a row ...... I can´t find the words for this performance ... ", Larry Brown said later.

This time the Knicks didn´t start strongly, didn´t end strongly and really didn´t have any strong period in the game.

In the first quarter the Sixers looked for their rhythm, Allen Iverson and Louis Williams made strong slashing plays and Samuel Dalembert some hustle points to show who is the man under the basket.
The Knicks weren´t able to answer but went to the freethrow line many times. Steve Francis had nine points, 4 of them from the line.
In an average match the Sixer led 24-21.

In the second quarter Samuel Dalembert exploded for 6 rebounds, 4 offensively and 8 points. Chris Webber, who had some strong dunks had 6 points, same for Allen Iverson.
For the Knicks Jamaal Crawford scored 3 15 footers for 6 points, Stephon Marbury added 6 indeed, but the Knicks simply didn´t play aggressive enough and didn´t share the ball like they are used to.
Philly led by 8, 48-40.

"I think we gave up with only trailing by 8 ... that is so stupid and I can really understand the fans booing ..., Stephon Marbury said.

In the 3rd Andre Igoudala and Allen Iverson made it clear for the 76ers.
Igoudala had 3 thunderous slams and scored 10 points while Allen Iverson went for 8 points.
The Sixers played a well balanced offense, something they do not do usually. Most of the plays go over C-Webb or AI, but this time the whole starting five was in double digits after the 3rd.
Nate Robinson scored 6 for the Knicks and Marbury added 8 but the Knicks trailed by 70-58.

In the last Philadelphia played it low, tried to avoid turning over the ball and to run down the clock.
Louis Williams scored 5 points and Chris Webber added 4 and 2 blocks to give them a 20 point lead.
In the garbage time Stephon Marbury went hot from the field, but his 13 points weren´t enough to help the Knicks, Philly wins 98-91.

The Player Of The Game was Samuel Dalembert with 15 points, 13 rebounds and 2 blocks shooting 7-12 from the field.
Allen Iverson added 21 points, "AI2" 19 and Louis Williams 17 and 7 assists. Chris Webber had 12 points and 10 rebounds as well as 2 blocks.

For New York Stephon Marbury went for 27, Steve Francis for 15, the only two Knicks in double digits.
Eddy Curry had 4 blocks, Quentin Richardson scored 9 points.

The Sixers dominated the post, 42-36 rebounds.
They only commited 10 turnovers and had 6 blocks.
New York shot .400 from three point range, but only .427 from the field.

The Play Of The Game was a break by Steve Francis, the Dunk Of The Night a heavy posterization by "AI2", really sick.

With a loss vs Boston tomorrow the Knicks won´t have any realistic chance left to get into the playoffs.
