Historical Rosters and ID normalization

hi folks,
just couple ov questions?
Is anybody workin on the historical patch? I reckon I read smthing but cant remember where... Anyway I'm trying to do it on me own and what Im finding very challanging is tryin to normalize the ID based on the original roster ov this year...
Ive seen in other patches ID are very confused... In me mind the key point for reusing patches is havin a normalized ID sheet:
Every player (historical, champs, current, NCAA, euro, national, ...).
That would allow everybody to reuse the same player in the patch you want...
Has anybody ever done such this effort or at least a try?
And what about a converter between old DBF files and the 2003 file?

PS: almost finished the "translation" of 9899 roster form the original 99players.dbf file in 03 format... still a bug wiv the created players in visualisation (just lazy to update all the fields in the new file) but quite confident to fix it soon... then there will be all the team... And Ivent got so much time to work on it so... if anybody out there can help me...

I was working on an All-Time roster patch but I put it aside in favour of the old season roster patches. Working backwards from 02/03, I'm currently up to 1999/2000.

It would be nice workin together on them... just not to do the same effort twice...
I've just finished the translation I wes talkin about... testin it, it looks its workin...
I tryed the exihbition game and the franchise and it looks not crashing...
The only thing Im missing is the players apparance of about 100 players... it takes time and I dunno if I want to do it but probabily puttin together our works we could have a nice patch...
Workin on the translation from NBA Live 99, Ive already got the roster from 88-89 to 98-99 so great part of the job has already been done. Ive finishing working on the translation algorithm, with Access 2000, but as I said great part of the job is the ID normalisation.
Let me know what you think about it and I'll send you the 9899 beta player.dbf file

as I told you Ive got this 9697 (verified is this season roster) and it looks its workin good. The only feature not covered is the playoff mode in the game where it looks the game has some problems (but I reckon is quite frequent wiv patches).
Anyway the only thing Im missing is some players appareance... the way they look in the game... the famous code ZZAB... I didnt have time to edit it and wot Id like to do is to release a standalone patch (considering the original player package) and then the additional patch adding the customized cybefaces.
I wil send you the list of players Im missing the face for and if you can help me on that (my current version has got a default face for white and black players).
Since Im working today I wil send it tonite.

I can't guarantee I'll be able to help out (I'm currently working on updating the Live 2003 current roster update in preparation for the offseason and 2003/2004 season), but if I have the time and ability to be of assistance, I'll lend a hand.
