play shorter quarters. That's the only option because no matter what scores are going to be high. Thats just the way it is [changes by pac] things will never be the same/ that's just the way it is[/changes by pac]

Some people find they can make use of a tweaked roster, but as Colin said, the only guaranteed method of getting lower scores is to play shorter quarters (generally 7 or 8 minutes).

Hi.
I'm in a season. My team is the 76ers. I play 11 mins quarter and I always play very good & real games. I score 90-100 pts. (about 45% fg)
I use DKs roster patch, and i set the opponent team off.strategy.
Ex: boston: 1-4 high, detroit: motion, etc...
PS: my lowest point-game : 84 pts
my highest point-game: 114 pts
My last game vs the PISTONS: 84-88. (I lose the match:-(
I scored 35,2 fg%, Detroit scored 44 fg%)
By & GO 76ERS
And sorry for my english

Those are pretty good stats for 11 minute quarters. Tweaked rosters can be effective, but unfortunately aren't suitable for Franchise Mode, specifically trading, free agency and generated rookies.

I play 12 min quarters, mostly with the Dallas Mavericks, at superstar level. I score about 100-105 a game, my opponents mostly score about 90-100. In my opinion these are great stats, especially for the Mavs, who are high-scoring on offense and defense. It took me some time to get to those stats(my first game was so damn frustrating, I lost to the 76ers by 60+ Points), but as you continue playing, you start to understand the 'plays' the cpu sets up and you'll learn to defend even those neck-breaking 3-pointers and zone slashes. Not every time, of course. IMO, this is ok, imagine you are an NBA player and have to defend KG or AI one on one. You gotta learn to accept that superstars will score great numbers. My point is: keeping Kobe or Ray Allen down at 20 points does not mean great defense, but it is a good job. Defending the fastbreak is essential and will help you win most of your games.
das war mein Senf

agreed but i play 8minute quarters(still gettin numbers around 115 though) and i try to slow down the tempo of the game(though if im behind i tend to use the fast break and points in a quarter just go up again) a lot but its a much bigger risc to get blown out by the opponent. i do think also that u gotta anticipate on the cpu a little

In previous Lives you could slow things down and get realistic scores with a little effort (I once defeated the Bucks 75-67 playing 12 minute quarters in NBA Live 2002), but you just leave yourself open for a loss if you go out of your way to get realistic scores in Live 2003 - at least when playing a full game.

My strategy is this...you run, I run. If the CPU can run and run and run, I figure I'll take advantage of them too. That's the reason Desmond mason shoots 75% in my franchise, all he takes are dunks on the break.

I can relate to that. Sometimes if I have a comfortable lead, I'll try to lower KG's FG% by taking some long jumpers, but for the most part, I just play the game.

especially for the Mavs, who are high-scoring on offense and defense.
Mavs on defense... Ha. Thats a good one! LoL.

Maybe defense is not the correct word...let me think of another expression.
I just wanted to say that the Mavs mostly get 100+ points on both offense and D. And for such a team the numbers I posted are quite ok.

I play 6 min quarters, my team is the Dallas Mavericks, at allstar level. I score about 80-110 a game, my opponents mostly score about 84-95.
My bench score about 30-40 per game. My favourite team is Orlando. I like T-Mac. T-Mac's high score 65 a game.
Sorry, My English is too bad.

I was playing a franchise mode as the Sixers. I simmed the first few years (I've already played then, so I wanted to play later). After playing a year or two, I got a team with a starting lineup of Shaq, Brian Grant, Kobe Bryant, Allen Iverson, and this rookie point guard I drafted with a pretty good overrall. The team was ranked 22 and couldn't win when I simulated play. All the other team's rookies were dominant.

That would be due to the re-calculation of the overall ratings that takes place. Generated rookies have much higher (untweaked) ratings when you use tweaked rosters.
