First/Best Positions?

Thu Mar 30, 2006 8:35 am

I was looking at the starting positions for some of the players in Live '06 and I think some of them should be changed. Shouldn't Dwight Howard be a Centre instead of a Power Forward? Can you think of anyone else that should be changed?

I know I could just play Howard as a Centre anyway but it's just kind of a pet peev.

Thanks.

That kind of change is up to you. However, Dwight Howard is listed as a power forward first and that's where he starts in real life, so if you're looking for accuracy there's no need to change him to a C/PF. But if you want him to play at centre in your game, no harm in changing it since that is his secondary position.

put him at pf and milicic at C!

eddie house is a SG, not PG. Amare is probably a C, same with Bosh.

One I was thinking of was changing Ike Diogu from a PF to a C. Right decision?

Thanks for the input.

personally, i think that isnt that great of choice considering he is undersized. Yes, ben wallace is also undersized for a centre, but he is able to hold his own, but as a rookie, i dont think diogu can play centre yet. maybe if you develop his rebounding, blocking, skills etc. then maybe later down the road he can play centre.

not amare, when he came back he was playing PF and Diaw was at C, and Bosh always starts at PF, Pape Sow starts at Center for the Raps now.

well, they CAN be. I based Amare off last year, since he played more then.

Just looking through the rosters and I noticed a few more. Trevor Ariza is listed as a guard but shouldn't he be a forward? Vice versa for Gerald Green. He's listed as a forward but isn't he a guard?

Finally, should I change Darko to a C?

It's a nitpick and may not seem important but humour me. Thanks.

Yes, those are two changes you could make.

Buddy Bosh is a PF all the way

cant believe you guys didnt mention Vince Carter...
hes a small forward...not shooting guard
cuz he isnt the passing/guard type...hes better as a small forward dunker sort of guy who receives the balll, not passes

what you guys think about my starting five for the suns.
C . Amare Stoudemire
PF. Shawn Marion
SF. Boris Diaw
SG. Raja Bell
PG. Steve Nash

is that good or should i take diaw out of the starting 5 ?

I would keep the lineup that way unless you play a strong inside defensive team, like the Spurs, Pistons, Pacers, or (the worst of all) Denver, in which case you should slip Marion to SF, Stoudemire to PF and Kurt Thomas to C in order to give yourself a little size. I find I do better against inside teams like that if I go big rather than small... May just be me.

i cant think of any immediatley off the top of my head, but in 2k6 Iverson is a SG, wtf?

Fri Apr 21, 2006 1:45 am

I think Andre Iguodala in your latest rosters is listed as a SF but on NBA.com hes listed as a guard, haven't seen that much of him play so maybe he plays as the starting SF for the sixers i dont know

Fri Apr 21, 2006 3:14 pm

yeah, i use him as SG

woah where have you been man? snow got traded to the cavs 2 years ago.

Iverson played about 60 games at PG and like 22 at SG when Kevin Ollie was starting. But the question for AI isnt whether he will play mainly PG or SG next year, but what team it will be for. (Hopefully, he stays in Philly)

I use the suns once in a blue moon and i use Diaw off the bench as kind of a utility man, he can fill in wherever needed...
