Modifying the past

I like to play with the facts, for instance creating a guy and modifying players.dbf so it looks like he has been drafted with their 11th pick last draft. But what if I want to base my player on a already created player. Lets say I want to change Luke Walton, so he'd be drafter as no.1 this past draft and is a dominant centre, just like his father. But how can I delete his past stats from the previous seasons?

Off the top of my head, the easiest way would to be find his stat entries in career.dbf (they'll match his ID in players.dbf) and change their ID assignment to 9999.
