06 crashing.

hello,
I've got the following specs
AMD sempron 1.9ghz
1gb ddr 3200 RAM
80gb hd
nvidia geforce 5700 256mb
I've been playing live 05 for a good while and upgraded to 06. Everything works perfectly for a few minutes into a game, then it freezes up and the sound loops. Sometimes the monitor will shut itself off.
I upgraded my RAM to 1gb from 512mb to see if that was the issue. no dice.
I took off the side panel of the PC to check temps on the card, didnt get very hot. I even set up a fan to blow onto the unit.
Then I upgraded my drivers to Omega drivers. Didn't work. Went to the Nvidia site and downloaded their drivers. Didn't work. As a last resort, I even upgraded my sound drivers. No dice.
Anyone have any ideas? The main interface works and all. Maybe I should turn down detail settings?

try playing on lower detail and see if it stills happens.
