When you have a dynasty team, and the computer puts a lower rated player as a starter because they have certain ratings higher than the original guy with the better OVR, should you leave it that way?
I usually change it back.

I don't change it, because the team is playing better with computer offered rosters.
I had one EA player, 70 ovrl, but very high ratings in FG, 3PT and FT about 95 in all. He played as starting SG at Miami, while Dwyane Wade 95ovrl was bench player. And the team was playing better with computer offered rosters

With most of the Dynasty games I've played with the teams I've controlled, the lineup's always been automatically adjusted to include the players with the better overall ratings. I rea-djust to my preferred lineup, assuming it doesn't match what the CPU has suggested.

basketball is all about match ups, sometimes a lower rated played may match up better agains an opponent better than a better rated player. when it comes to important games i always check the starting line ups to see if i need to make ajustments.
for instannce i play magic in my dynasty with arenas, ,dooling, turkoglu, jamison, howard. howard and jamison usually get it done on the inside, but when i played the heat in the playoffs they got beat up so i changed my out howard for cato at center, took jamison out and put howard at pf. stat wise cato is not as good as howard but cato is bigger and this line up was much better. howard was now matched up with zo and cato was just there to play clean up. plus i had a fresh jamison coming off the bench to replace howard.
so i would say its agood idea to check the staring line ups screen to see where your outmatched and where you outmatch your opponent, and to see if some slight ajustments might remedy or cause a mismatch.
hieght and weight arent include in aplayers rateing are they? theyer pretty important stats.

I usually change the CPU auto line up because sometimes they just dun make sense..like rather putting Wade and Amir Johnson than Wade and Iguodala

Height plays a big role, since you can't put in a player that is 6'8 at Center or a 6'6 at PG. Usually PG's heights are between 5'5 to 6'3, SG - 6'4 to 6'7, SF - 6'8 to 6'10, PF 6'9 to 7'0, and C - 6'10 and up.

I dont understand what you are saying. Eevn the computer generates 6'8 Centers and Shawn Livingston in 6'7 at pg. Does hgt. or wgt. do anything to the game mechanics?

It does, but I find the CPU takes advantage of size more often than the CPU is able to as far as adjusting shots are concerned.

put whatever the hell YOU want, idiot. mine put warrick at PF, so i put Diaw at PF

I suggest you learn some manners.
Andrew will back me up on this one.

grr the CPU make old man Robinson start instead of my man Jason Collins
Fri Mar 24, 2006 4:55 pm
I found the default Cliff Robinson to be pretty dominant...he hits threes, runs the floor and blocks shots like nobody's business...especially when the other PF doesn't guard him in transition...
Fri Mar 24, 2006 5:10 pm
yeh but Collins is my bitch

Indeed I do. There's no need to be so uncivil. It's a worthwhile talking point, whether it's better/you prefer to accept the CPU's suggestion or devise your own lineups according to your own strategy/substitution patterns.

I adjust it

cliff robinson is my man.. i dont like nenad and collins. their soft. i signed campbel then made him my starting C and cliff is my PF. they are awesome inside. they dont need to score. they just do the dirty little things...

indeed you should change it if you like. even greg popovich changed his lineup last playoffs putting ginobili in the bench for brent barry. it's strategy.
as of now, im using the lakers and their starting small forward is lamar odom. if im against indiana, i would not alter the default starting line-up because i need a tall guy to guard peja. but if im against a different team with a "not so good" small forwards, i would put jim jackson as my starting sf to add outside shooting with kobe. in that case, i could make lamar a 6th man for kwame brown and that's a strong bench.

Does anybody know if it makes a difference when you simulate games? That's really what I meant originally, but I see now that I didn't make that clear.
Sat Mar 25, 2006 4:02 pm
Ah, simulation...I haven't really noticed whether it makes much difference or not, to be honest.

this thread is pointless.

Then rather than spamming and being abusive, don't post in it. No one's forcing you to post in a thread you have no interest in, when it's clear that other people would like to discuss the topic at hand.
