Create a player headshape plus custom face texture?

Wed Oct 19, 2005 10:51 am

Hi, I was wondering if anybody knows of a way to get a created players headshape from the game so I could add my own custom face texture to it. The headshape I used in create a player is more accurate to my head than any NBA players headshape. I tried to open plrdetails.fsh so I could add my own textures to the create-a-player ones but FSHed, FSHx, and EA Graphics Editor can't do it. I was able to do this in NBA Live 2000 because player files were loaded in a WINDOWS/TEMP directory, so I was thinking is there a program anybody knows of that can extract files from the Windows page file or from memory? Thank you for any ideas you may have.

Moved to 06 Patching Issues.

I'm not sure what to do, but have you tried making him 'not created'? In order to assign a cyberface to a created player, you need to make the game think he is a regular player and then assign your graphics to him. Change the 'ISCREATED' to false, and assign your cyberface, then see if that works.
Perhaps someone that has done it before can offer more help...

Well it didn't work. I didn't find a face patch option in any dbf for 06. I found that in the appearance.dbf file my player has a faceid which corresponds to headshape values in faces.dbf. To use a custom texture I have to change faceid to -1 but if I don't have an ebo in the sgsm folder it uses the default headshape. :wall:

i think we have the same problem, you want to use the headshape of the player you created because it fits more for the cyberpatch you're gonna use. It's really hard to assess who's NBA player's headshape you're gonna use to fit your head. And oftentimes you create a really fine cyberface but when you put it in the game it looks weird because of the headshape. Just a tip, when you want to create a cyberface, first thing you need to consider is "who's NBA player has the same headshape as I do".... ignore who's NBA player looks like you... are has the same skin tone as you.... it will all boil down to the headshape. Hope it helps man. :)
